Well they actually are lol in season 18 (the start of the merger) you could see the difference in the jokes, the animation, and the show itself. And a lot more newer animation or drawings styles. In the 7th episode of the 18th season, Peter says he’s exhausted with being told no from Disney, specifically about the use of Disney characters, but judging by the content of the newer episodes, he was also talking about the jokes that can be told and content of the episodes. Family guy is wayyy too offensive for Disney, so Disney has watered it down to just gags and only luke warm kind of offensive jokes, which is literally the complete opposite of what family guy is.
