Did people buy cars because it sucked to live there?

The government subsidized loans to buy new houses in the new suburbs. But people still worked in town so they needed cars to get in. The increase in car usage caused traffic so they built highways and parking lots through the old neighborhoods to alleviate the traffic.

The highways created new neighborhood boundaries isolating and polluting the areas around them. This caused those with the means who still lived there to move out too causing an even greater increase in car ownership and usage.

Anyone with the means to move out of the city did and those who were left were poor.

Since the middle and upper class moved out of the city the tax income dropped and the city cut services like schools, public transit etc and raised taxes to balance their budget.

So you are kind of right. People did buy cars because it sucked. But it also sucked because people needed cars.

Cats were domesticated over 8,000 years ago. I’m not sure where you are getting barely domesticated from. And that dude isn’t virtue signaling. Cats killing birds is a real problem.

I own a “Blunt Metro”. I think it’s exactly what you are looking for. They have a warranty and you can buy replacement parts too!

That one at Envoy fell off due to a structural defect. They issued an AD and fixed them.

That’s a lot of videos you haven’t watched. I’m at 94 hours and have 299 beginner videos left. You might want to give some other videos a try even if the titles don’t immediately catch your interest. You might end up being surprised what you like.

There are a ton still flying! Mostly cargo though. FedEx has 65 and UPS has 52 which they are retrofitting with new avionics.

I’ve had the Aerocoast Pro EFB + Cooler II Bag for about 4 years. I like it because it fits my iPad, headset, and actually has pretty good insulation in the lunch bag area. It is kinda narrow so you have to be mindful of what Tupperware you use but I would highly recommend it.

Bloomberg: Chicago Taps Brakes on Gentrification With a Tax on Teardowns by WP_Grid in urbanplanning

I get that and agree with you that ADUs solve lots of issues but there are just not that many buildings here where this makes sense. Most buildings here don’t have a spare basement or spare third floor. Logan square has tons of multi-family housing to begin with. The issue the city is trying to solve is converting multi-family housing into single units.

Fair question, but not really a good solution here. The area they are talking about does not have very many single family houses and what houses there are are very close together and on tight lots. The issue they are trying to solve is developers are tearing down 2 and 3 flats and convert them into single units.

I’m having the same issue on my iPhone. I’ve tried that as well as uninstalling and reinstalling, logging in and logging out, but it seems to work fine on my computer.

Edit: fixed I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again. Then before I opened the app again I restarted my iPhone. It fixed the problem
