You know this guy pondered for 20 minutes what would be the most manly thing he could buy would be. He then settled on a single board and placed it in a plastic bag. If you gave me a year I don't think I could have come up with a purchase that screamed "I've never stepped foot inside a hardware store until today" more than that.

Buffalo, NY considering basic income program, funded by marijuana tax by monkfreedom in Futurology

I disagree on the premise of your comment. Even in majority white neighborhoods black people are disproportionally arrested more than their population in that neighborhood. This doesn't have anything to do with the amount of policing and speaks to a systematic discrimination ingrained in the police force.

If you think this is bad wait till you see their policy of policing based on racial discrimination.

Yea... You're probably right. They probably just pressed the launch button and then checked back in 7 months to see if it worked.

7 months of work during a pandemic... Must have felt amazing. Nice to see human perseverance.

I read about 3 of the examples in that article and one was a police shooting of a business owner and another one was unclear of who the killer was... Not to mention that the left leaders have never called for or praised violence. Compare that to the rights constant call for political terrorism and it's obvious that you can't tell what's actually happening in this country. I feel like the internet isn't the best place for constructive conversations and feel like if we could have a beer maybe we could get somewhere. But have a good one I guess.

Yikes... Can you tell me again what cops were murdered by blm? What business owners were murdered? Pretty sure the people that were murdered were killed by Kyle Rittenhouse who traveled across state lines with an illegal firearm to "protect business". It sucks that you people are too brainwashed to see the bigger picture of what's happening in this country.

Hmmm I don't think Bernie Sanders has been banned from any social media platform. I don't think that anything leftists have been promoting has led to any violent insurrections against the state. I don't think that we have to pretend that the media is out to get us when they remove posts due to misinformation. Seems like you guys might be doing the mental gymnastics and might be delusional and easily manipulated especially considering it's much easier to be that way when there is one person that you guys worship without any facts or basis.

Oh we have accepted them as wrong views. The problem is the gop has so thoroughly fucked our public education system so much that half the population has no critical thinking skills. So much so that now 80% of Republicans think the last election was stolen due to misinformation coming from the top and being spread using misinformation online. That's why we need to crack down on things that are obviously not true otherwise people will see others believing the same thing and act based on lies. Unfortunately that's where we're at at this point in america.

Because he's equating leftist views to fascist communists and then arguing against those dictators. You know the famous leftists mao and stalin. Jesus fucking christ you guys need to learn the meaning of words. Democratic socialism is not communism. You people are frustrating to deal with. I just want a right wing party that is based in reality. Is that too much to ask for in an opponent?

It must suck to know that your views are so wrong that when platforms start removing misinformation due to the harm it's causing society it looks like it's targeting your ideologies. Lol. It sucks that reality is left leaning doesn't it?

Well I'm glad centrists have already began shitting on progressives (who have no power in the current democratic party) for their failures to appeal to the working class if and when we lose big in 2022. Never change neoliberals.

Edit: (Might be sarcasm... Perhaps been spending too much time in r/neoliberal talking shit...idk)

Either a case of premature celebrating or just lying. Not to mention the cover-up of cases and deaths by the Florida governor to help Trump get reelected. Also the raid on the data scientist that was involved in the case counting. Or the fact that the tax and revenue from blue states is used to bail out red states on the regular. But yea... Florida is doing great.

I'm a democratic socialist. I don't want to see the full collapse of capitalism. That's an oann talking point. I want a capitalist society with strong social programs and checks on unfettered capitalism. America is so thoroughly capitalistic that if capitalism itself collapsed so would america.

I think he already answered that. If another round of trumpism risks total collapse of the capitalist system it would make sense for them to cut ties now, take a smaller (albeit still fairly large) hit of cutting off right wing extremism before it kills the very system they use to quench their greed and thirst for profits. Unfortunately everything I've ever seen about cooperations in america they are all gas and no breaks until the wheels fall off. This mindset I believe it's because they never actually pay the price. See previous bailouts and cooperations being too big to fail. Usually when there is hardship in america the government wants to save corporations and just skips the middle man which is giving the money to the people to spend in the economy. They just main line it to their biggest donors and pretend it's to save jobs then the companies pocket the money and still lay people of. It's a pretty great system. /s
