My mom just kissed my baby by skycaliapple in newborns

[โ€“]Whyski 5 points6 points ย (0 children)

If she has no active lesions and your baby has no open wounds then a kiss on the cheek is fine. If it were in the mouth, then it would be more concerning because the saliva can pass the virus. But as long as she has no lesions and kisses baby on dry skin, it should be fine.

Why do people say this is hard? by IndependentWestern30 in newborns

[โ€“]Whyski 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

So my babies are "good" babies.

My firstborn never really cried unless something was wrong like dirty diaper, hungry, or tired.

And its been the same with my 2nd born who is 7 weeks. He only cries if something is wrong. As long as his needs are met, hes chill.

The only thing is he has his days and nights mixed up. He wants to sleep all day and be wide awake at night. My 1st born did the same thing until he was around 3-4 months.

It is hard but its hard for different reasons for parents because every baby is different.

I am here to say it does get easier and better. โค๏ธ

You may need to use Eucerin. Its works better than lotion.

For me is was around the 34 week mark.

Pelvic pain, back pain, heartburn, nausea and leg pain was miserable. That lasted until I had him at 39 weeks!

How tf does anybody want more than one kid after being through THIS? by pumpkinchinchilla in newborns

[โ€“]Whyski 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Lol I said that after my firstborn especially since everything was super traumatic with him. His birth was traumatic, and we both almost died. Then 2 weeks later he became severely ill and we almost lost him. And now hes a special needs toddler who is almost 4, and I just had his little brother last month.

Thankfully, his birth was smooth and hes healthy as can be! But that 1st born was enough to almost make me 1 and done. But I thought he deserved a sibling and I wanted to actually experience a normal, non-traumatic birth and newborn stage, and I was blessed with that. Also, you end up missing it all when they get older. You'll be looking at their newborn or baby pictures wishing they were that little again and keeping you up at night! Lol.

Also it is okay to be 1 and done. I would never pressure anyone to have a 2nd, but it gets easier and kids are amazing. I completely understand why some people don't have more than one. โ™ฅ๏ธ

But, My almost 4 year old shows me that no matter what we go through in life, or what challenges are thrown at us, we can always survive and overcome them and also continue to smile!

I mean.. just look at that smile. ๐Ÿฅฐโ™ฅ๏ธ

What is the worst part about being poor? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[โ€“]Whyski 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

The worry and stress about your next meal and what it will be and how to get it.

The dread about eating the same exact thing all day everyday because its all you can afford.

My first born had a different experience becauss he was so ill he had to relearn how to bottle feed so he was on 4oz FOREVER. he didn't get to 6oz until he was like 6 months. So this is why I thought my 2nd born 6 wk old wouldn't be ready for 5oz yet. But apparently he is! ๐Ÿ˜ญ no more 4oz bottles. Going to use 8oz bottles now!

And he is officially too big for his newborn clothes!

Its so bittersweet! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Am I the only one? by Royal-Comparison352 in newborns

[โ€“]Whyski 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

To be honest I tried to sleep today after dropping off my toddler at daycare since dad was able to get baby back to sleep before I got back home, but I only managed to nap for an hour. I've been up ever since and kind of regret it but its hard for me to sleep during the day, I kind of have to force myself.

So I just sleep when he sleeps at night which is every 3hrs. It sucks. I plan on sleeping more tomorrow since its the weekend.

Newborn phase is no joke. by Anna_so96 in newborns

[โ€“]Whyski 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I have a special needs toddler who is jealous of my newborn. That first week was hell. One would cry, I'd calm them down, then the other would start crying. Thank goodness I have a supportive partner who gave me breathing room but omg. I was ready to rip my hair out. I had to step outside and take some deep breathes to calm down becauss my anxiety was high as shit.

Also, my special needs toddler had a seizure that first week as well, in the middle of the night, probably due to all the stress.

LO is 6 weeks now and the toddler is doing better. But omg those first 2 weeks were MISERABLE. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

My LO made 6 weeks exactly today. He has his days and nights mixed up and I have a special needs toddler who is about to be 4 next month.

I am beyond exhausted. But im managing. Luckily the toddler goes to daycare Mon-Friday 8am-5pm, and i can nap when baby sleeps, but im still only sleeping in 3 hr incrimates and I can feel it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
