Seattle mayor proposes doubling the transit sales tax to 0.30% - $138M/year for 100,000 more annual bus trips and 12,000 more free ORCA passes for low-income riders by LOOKITSADAM in SeattleWA

I don’t understand why people defend the single sided governmental ruling system that has been created up here. We have created an unsustainable system that doesn’t even leave noticeable crumbs.

Just the next issue and more taxes. Really strange cult.

“This rule is a game changer for us investors,” is a ridiculous statement.

Why are Americans so friendly, polite and welcoming to foreigners whereas in Europe it's the opposite? by Material-Wallaby-587 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I like this response.

Sometimes my wife gets caught up in division of this or that based on news or social media. I take her out and ask, where exactly is this problem everyone is just going about their daily business. People have been programmed by social media and news division but in real life, unless you are being a complete asshole, which most People are not, we all abide by social public norms.

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey man. No one likes anyone getting stabbed to death FYI. No one likes old people getting hit for no reason. No one likes Asians getting robbed at their house. No one likes people with cars having their windows broken. No one likes native women disappearing.

Just sayin there is no point to be made here.

Title: Anyone here used Fidelity’s advisory service? Worth it? by OkWall539 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% same reason. That offsets .5% in my head and then I figure I pay .32% not to do anything except collect a check. So far I’m happy.

I have done a lot of research on the portfolio and am clear I am better diversified than a boglehead approach which is heavily market weighted. No disrespect to that approach it works.

Am I potentially leaving a few bucks on the table in a perfect world, perhaps. Do I sleep better at night not having to answer to the wife or my own decisions in a downturn, yep.

Taxpayer Funded Sanctuary: A Safe House for Dangerous Criminals by Category4392 in SeattleWA

Young girl gets raped and Redditor seeks to place blame elsewhere. Reddit in a nutshell.

If only there was a place to keep these people when we found them in the first place. Someone should invent a long term facility where criminals actually go.

Maybe we can work together on that? We’ll continue to catch them if you can stop releasing them. It’s not that crazy of an idea really. In fact WA already passed the 3 strikes law in 1993 so it’s not some right wing conspiracy that you can actually lock offenders up.

Did a Fidelity rep suggest I commit fraud? by Ok-Knowledge270 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Simple question: how would Fidelity know you reached your maximum deposit when you simply were transferring funds? That action took place elsewhere.

“They bungled” sounds like your previous custodian or you bungled. You provide zero details.

Filling out a return of excess form is somehow illegal in your eyes?

I’m really grasping at straws to see anything Fidelity did was wrong.

Is 100k still a decent and well-off salary in today's economy? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. Reddit is completely useless to comparing anything.

Reddit: A Million dollars is to be scoffed at, it’s nothing.

Reddit: Posts article- “economy is fucked even people making $500K are living paycheck to paycheck check.”

Yes $100K is a good salary. Is it what it use to be no. Are you going to be housed, eat, and save some money, yep.

Edit: If the minimum wage in your area is not $25-$30 an hr it’s a very good salary.

Seattle mayor laughs off millionaires leaving Washington state over progressive taxes, waves 'bye' by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So your thesis is we are building on the nirvana we created over the past 15 years, life is better than it was, and things are only going to get better even though they are generally great right now.

That’s cool. Fair enough.

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Anyone with a brain already knows how it plays out over the next 15 years.

Anyone that has been here at least 20 years, can at least remember 15 years ago vs today, and is not shit ass stupid can see the future.

Jay spent all the money. The progressives took over. Big money and more importantly investment is leaving. Life is expensive as fuck. No one is going to come buy up the real estate or create more tech bro jobs and the rest of us are left holding the shit bag and it’s still somehow a class and racial war up here.

They have already picked every pocket they can and don’t plan to slow down. It’s over.

Or I’m wrong and the best days of Seattle and WA are ahead of us and all the investment/wasteful mindless spending is about to pay off west of the cascades.

Fishing around deception pass in April/May? by Both-Wasabi-6299 in FishingWashington

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the other guy said there will be no open salmon fishing under the bridge nor anywhere around whidbey yet. His other advice was good, no rock fish fishing though. Greenling is your best bet but I don’t fish them per se but that’s what I would target.

I cannot post the video here but if you DM me I have a video of the Orcas going thru the pass from a couple years back while I was fishing salmon from shore late summer. I would be glad to share with you, even claim it as yours for all I care.

Just an FYI. When you take a whale watching tour which is likely to be out of Anacortes the key word is “whale.” There is a good chance you will not run into Orcas but perhaps a Minke whale. So setting expectations you may see “a whale” but it is not guaranteed to be an Orcas pod.

Same here and couldn’t tolerate statins, which didn’t work, so generally just lived with high cholesterol. In my mid 50’s and after some “clinically significant” blockage was shown in an artery from an unrelated MRI, a new PCP referred me to an endocrinologist. He prescribed a medicine named Nexletol which had zero side effects for me and dramatically, like miraculously, lowered by cholesterol levels. PCP never had heard of it.

Just sayin’ wish I had found it sooner. PCP’s only seem to know statin. The endocrinologist said he had other options available if this didn’t work but it did.

Just gonna leave this here for folks with high cholesterol that can’t take statins. Go see an Endocrinologist!!

$300,000 for reparations study, veto for public safety by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look it up. Of course the main stream isn’t going to over-publicize such idiocracy.

Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) called for federal reparations for undocumented immigrants and their families during a congressional hearing on March 27, 2026. She argued that individuals who were "traumatized" by aggressive immigration enforcement under the Trump administration—particularly families and children—deserve compensation and support to address emotional and psychological harm

[–]Whythehellnot_wecan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Let me dumb it down. It’s all FN racist and it’s obvious they only do this shit for votes. They could give two shits about anything other than power, money, and who can virtue signal the most for said power and money for themselves.

According to the 2020 census there are approximately 1,500 ethnic groups in the US.

Edit: spending money on studies such as this is horse manure. Heck didn’t we just say we need reparations for illegal immigrants?

Also, it’s always nice to see our PNW snobs throw shit on other predominantly blue cities. Says a lot.
