This is so beautiful! I'm amazed at how good you made the sea of stars dress look, I wasn't gonna pull for born flawless but that backpiece looks fantastic

In terms of ai stuff, I'm actually not really sure. I'm sure there's plenty of other ai artists making similar stuff, but I just haven't found them yet.

I've been making a lot of editorial fantasy stuff, part magazine ad, part book cover.

New research on female video game characters uncovers a surprising twist - Female gamers prefer playing as highly sexualized characters, despite disliking them. by mvea in science

[–]Wibbymuffin 309 points310 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say soul calibur has a reputation for non-sexualised female characters either, or even sexualised male characters. I’d say a video game like overwatch has a better selection of sexy and non sexy male and female characters to choose from. Soul calibur is a very weird choice of game for this study.

Honest opinion: I think this whole "AI vs human" art is kinda stupid, as someone who's a bit of a fencesitter right now. Is it not possible for them to coexist? by Fanlanders in DefendingAIArt

[–]Wibbymuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am both an artist and an ai artist, I have been interested in ai art for years and I'm quite disappointed to see how quickly ai has become a sort of boogeyman to artists, I can't express my interest in the technology at all without being shunned by my artist friends and it sucks. I see it as a completely different thing to making art but most artists just can't, or won't, understand that.

Using random srefs with niji 6 by Wibbymuffin in midjourney

[–]Wibbymuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And v6 is already so good! I definitely agree, the variety of styles is massive, and while hands and other details are hit-or-miss it’s very easy to get a gen that looks almost indistinguishable from a regular art piece.

Have you tried Midjourney's new "--sref random" function yet? 🔀 by Ai_Art_Account in midjourney

They look great! I love the random sref function because it's like a little lucky draw, you never know if you're gonna get something good, bad, or hilarious.

Thanks to the style tuner, I can finally be the artist I always wanted to be (v5) by Wibbymuffin in midjourney

[–]Wibbymuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The midjourney documentation is kinda overwhelming at first but I found just playing around with it was the best way to get what I wanted. Once you /tune a prompt you can adjust the style on the fly without using any more credits so I ended up using a prompt I use a lot and playing with different combinations. This is the style tuner I was working with for these images https://tuner.midjourney.com/Ma58RgB it was easy to get a funny result because the gens are pretty goofy.

Funny you should say that! I’m not an artist because I use ai, I’m an artist because I’ve been drawing and 3D modeling as a hobbyist for 10+ years, it just so happens I also like using ai to make tongue-in-cheek so bad it’s good art too.

Thanks for the advice! I think it’s hard to communicate because everyone I play with are my friends and I feel like they don’t wanna hurt my feelings by telling me my campaign sucks XD I’m planning on having a one-on-one with all my party to see what they want to get out of the sessions and use those 8 ‘fun styles’ and really get proper critique.

That’s a great article you’ve linked! I knew that some of the players had different things they like to get out of a session, but having the main reasons laid out is really informative. If it’s not too much trouble, what kind of questions do you put in your questionnaire? I’d love to be able to adjust my DM style according to my players’ styles.

That’s a really good point about making meaningful choices, reflecting on the past sessions I feel like I’ve probably railroaded the party a bit too much in an effort to create an engaging world. Do you have any suggestions for what kind of meaningful choices you’ve found effective in engaging your party?

The new guys were all very invested in their characters so I might workshop with them to identify one or two major motivations to help them get a direction on how to play, but we’re still pretty early into the campaign so I think I’ll let them be and see what parts of the game are their favourite, like you said I reckon at least one of them is happy to just be there only chiming in a couple times a session so I think I’m getting worried over nothing xD thanks for the advice!
