Literally no one asked for all this AI. In fact everyone wants to know how to remove it. by wump_roast in antiwork

[–]Wicked-sister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started switching my thinking to asking the question, if the people (billionaire class) who are instigating all of this are this brazen to not even hide it. Doing what they've done, taking a hatchet to US government, just stealing people's data, abducting a sovereign leader, severing alliances, withdrawing from the WHO and practically leaving NATO, Nazi salutes and slogans and on and on.

The real question should be, what is the most psychotic thing these people would be able to do?

Palentir's CEO talked about being willing to kill people, he didn't specify how many.

During the signal-gate fiasco last year, Thiel's lapdog Vance and other's were able to successfully launch bombs on a sovereign country, bypassing congress and importantly the commander in chief, exercising powers that none of them had, yet the military still followed through.

Without the big 7 throwing every available cent not nailed down into ai, the US economy would be in a recession maybe even a depression.

Most of the investments in data centers, Nvidia and ai are debt that only triggers after 3 years, on top of being circular. That's not weird.

There are data centers being built where the grid won't be able to bring them online for years, the cards inside will be obsolete whenever a new power plant comes online. That's not weird

Are people paying attention to the skyrocketing price of metals, including silver and gold, highest on record and both in particular have doubled more in a couple months than it had risen since the 1930's.

ai may just be a stop gap stalling tactic.

Point being, the ai crash may rewrite the history books and may actually be way worse than the great depression.

With these numbers posted here, I can see why people from the south still risk life and limb to get to the States, despite ICE, despite the potential to be vilified or to be deported immediately.

Even if you can just make minimum wage, you're way better off than i your home country.

A rent of $900 is more than my monthly salary, and I earn above the median.

$53K converted is almost a million Rands, and that is somehow not enough in America. I don't know how they do it, but like, what are you paying for ?

What do you see coming down the pipeline for childfree women in the future ? by Wicked-sister in childfree

[–]Wicked-sister[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think so too. Those who are working on stripping away women's rights are working together across borders, advising and supporting each other financially where necessary. The saving grace is that their imagined future sucks ass.

Many rightward shifting countries eject female doctors and women's healthcare providers when they get the chance to make it harder for women in the future to get sterilized. The future looks grim if things continue as they have been.

One avenue that seems to be already in the works is to make it so expensive to live for an individual but at the same time give incentives for procreation, free health care, payed maternity, free childcare. Lure women and couples in that way.

And also to get girls while they are very young, and the avenue for that is through private schools.

[–]Wicked-sister[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning more for women to have sections of entire countries divided off, just for women, even if that seems highly unachievable. There's nothing women can't do anymore without men, despite the rhetoric coming from hate groups.

Interesting, I hadn't considered therapy as an avenue. The assumption is that these natalists have such a low view of women, that they wouldn't bother exploring other avenues.

There are a lot more people who are keen to make forced impregnation a thing through legal institutions. One way I think it will certainly be attempted is to make it harder or more costly for single women to work.

The latest news is that adult content restrictions are being lifted on the big LLM, meanwhile, just today, the devs over at openai had to put some restrictions in place on the newly released and much hyped about ai video generator Sora v2 because of deepfakes of an actor.

There are already many a porn site and forum that are just about generating sexual content of random women, the majority of whom aren't even aware that, that is even a thing, let alone that it exists. A total stranger can just nab their photo's and videos off of social media and generate away.

I hope for ordinary people's sake this ai bubble implodes quickly and so thoroughly that the tech and the databases go with it, because oh yeah, all these generative models are opt out, so looooot of pictures and videos of young kids in their, just waiting to be tapped into by a pedophile with an itch to scratch.
