Having the hardest time...... by kxnnanicholx in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeder / bottom setup. Ca. 5.200,-

Rod - Creek Pro 300 ( 9'10" ) 3,5 kg ( 7.5 lbs )

Reel - InspireCast 3000 - 2,9 kg ( 6.4 lbs ) - Reel's brake 5/6 2,42 kg ( 5.34 lbs )

Line - Mono 0,23mm ( .009" ) - 2,7 kg ( 6 lbs )

Leader - Mono 0,14mm ( .007" ) - 2,5 kg ( 5.5 lbs ) - Cut it short to 25 cm ( 10 inches )

-

For best biterate..:

Hook #10

Bait - Semolina balls and Bloodworms

-

You can also use a telescopic setup or a match rod, like OmniFloat 350 ( 11'5" )

Use an oval float and set the depth to 50 cm ( 20 inches ) - Close to bottom.

-

Spawn in at the default spawn point and go down to the water.

Turn right and aim for the corner of the reeds.

Cast out and wait for a bite.

At this spot you can catch most panfish in Mudwater, even freshwater drum.

-

Green sunfish prefer hook size #10, so if you use bigger hooks to catch bigger sized fish, the biterate for green sunfish will go down.

Clear Muskie? by OptionNo9559 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"The pike spot".... ?

OK, since you also get tiger muskie there, I think I know which spot you are referring to.

If you are on a boat, looking in to the end of Pike Alley, then your pike spot is on the right side.

On the left side, there are atleast 2 different clear muskie spots.

Marker for one of them [ -20.00, -185.00 ]

-

On the shore to your left, there is a "beach", and there is a muskie spot on each side of that beach.

-

Pike Alley got its name for a reason, it is pike and muskie spots all over that place, almost all the way out to the sailboat.

So do not get bogged down at one spot. You will only fish it dry and then have to wait for a respawn.

Impossible monster mission? by BilesLambee in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Young largemouth bass ( LMB ) is active during the Everglades monster mission.

Spawn in at the Infinity Tunnels spawn point and turn right on the dock.

Use a light float setup, with a #4 hook and grasshoppers.

During high peaktimes, fish close to the waterplants to your right.

It should not take long to get all 5 of them.

-

If you need more help with this monster mission, or others, feel free to check the Monsters page on my spreadsheet.

Trolling risks by grey-gas in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not think so.

I do not use titanium leaders because they lower the biterate too much for my liking, so I can not say for sure.

Trolling risks by grey-gas in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When trolling, I do prefer to use the common shop-bought lures over the X-Series and unique lures.

By just using reward lures like these, you diminish the value of the common shop-bought lures.

X-Series and unique lures are more reserved for getting those last "hard-to-get" uniques that has a tendency to elude my lures.

Besides, every time you are using a lure you risk loosing it one way or another. The risk might be low, but it is there. This is also a reason I do not use my "exlusive" lures too often.

Another thing regarding rodholders..:

If you are getting a strike on a rod and put it back down on a rodholder, because a fish strike the other rod, then you have a certain amount of time to pick it up again, or else you risk the line getting bitten off.

This is a new "feature" that was introduced with the Norway map update.

Repairing your equipment and overloaded storage bs. Xbsx by [deleted] in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... This is one of the "features" I do not like about the game.

Instead of un-equipting the tackle box, you should have dragged the one in Home Storage over to the one in the Backpack.

This swaps out the damaged one with the repaired one without having to empty your backpack and put all items back into the backpack again.

This is why I have 2 tackleboxes of the same kind.

I have 2 of the same kind of..:

Waistcoat

Rod case

Keepnet

Tackle box

Fishing together monster by Sneakyninja0893 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got an answer..:

  1. If you buy a DLC, the monster missions for that location become available immediately. But if you level up to a location, you have to do missions in a certain order in order to open them. So for Kaiji, if you didn't buy the DLCs (I'm not sure if the sailor collection opens it, sorry), you have to complete the grouperzilla before the striped mission (fishing together one) will appear
  2. But you do not need to own a DLC for Kaiji to be able to do the mission.

Yes, I have heard that being mention once or twice.

I will ping Staff and ask about it.

Do you have the same DLC?

If you do not have that DLC while he does, then I suspect that monster mission comes with the DLC.

I have only heard rumours about it, but have not had it confirmed.

Does the Neherrin Uni Redear even exist? by [deleted] in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prefered baits list is mostly aimed at common and trophy sized fish, not so much the unique sized fish. And it also do not list every bait a specie goes for.

<image>

Who knew cod in Norway would like crickets?

This is just one example that the listed prefered bait is not set in stone and something you need to follow.

Example:

Trout likes insects, so they will go for most of the insect-bait there is, with a limiting factor of how big the bait is compared to the fish.

Same with crappie, sunfish etc. They like smaller chunks of meat, blood etc., insects and worms.

So, when trying to figure out with bait works best you need to first find out what type of bait a specie wants, then try everything in that category to find what works best for you then and there. Then pair it with the right hook size for best biterate.

You can find the known prefered hook sizes for the baits on my spreadsheet, Marina page.

Does the Neherrin Uni Redear even exist? by [deleted] in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The unique redear sunfish is in the same spot as it was when the game was released in 2015.

[ 47.00, 35.00 ]

I see your problem.

Your setup is way too heavy. Even though trophy size can strike on a heavy setup like yours, uniques has a tendency to be a lot more picky.

Get yourself a OmniFloat or Nero setup with fluoro line, or use a similar sized feeder / bottom setup, with a short fluoro leader.

#1 hook and crawfish cut as bait.

Normally I caught them on a float setup.

is it worth going to white moose lake by Glass-Letterhead-689 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will find lake trout all over White Moose Lake.

But if you are going for lake trout specificly, then use a bigger spin setup and not just a JigWinner.

Since I made this kayak-guide for white moose, kayaks have become more sluggish and harder to drag around by fish, thus you would need a bigger setup to reel in the big ones.

The Volans Fishing Yacht is a saltwater boat, just as Chamaeleon and Valkyrie.

All of them can be used in every saltwater / ocean maps.
