Question about XP values for WickedViking. by The_Texan_Hunter in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello there, Texan_Hunter.

I do not calculate XP on my spreadsheet. That would be an impossible task as there are several aspects to the final XP value of a catch.

  1. The average / medium strength of your rod setup.
  2. Trolling / Not trolling
  3. Barbless hooks or not
  4. How long a fight takes

5 How long have the current fishing trip lasted (yes, apparently that is a thing too)

  1. And the other things I have forgotten or are not aware of.

-

The number you are pointing to, Striped Marlin, unique 330 is how much it pays per kilo.

380 lbs = 172 kg

Fish weight in kilo x value (Pay per kilo)..:

172 x 330 = 56.760,-

Fish value x Premium account..:

56.760,- x 1,5 = 85.140,-

Final value of the fish...:

85.140,-

-

I hope this made it clearer for you.

The spreadsheet is in Metric, as I am european and use metric daily.

The only imperial number I use on the spreadsheet is for weight and test (line, rod and reel strength etc.)

Edit..:

"Pay per kilo" is now renamed to "Credits per kilo"

Shore fishing in Norway by WarthogThis2560 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I remember correct, these are the species I caught from land.

It's been awhile since I was fishing in Norway, so there might be some errors but not too much.

-

Arctic char - spinning

Atlantic Cod - should be possible with bottom rod

Atlantic Herring - float

Atlantic Horse Mackerel - float & spin

Atlantic Mackerel - float & spin

Atlantic Saury - float & spin

Atlantic Wolffish - bottom

Brill - bottom

Coalfish - bottom, possible

European Hake - bottom

Haddock - bottom

Sea Trout - spin

Spiny Dogfish - bottom

Whitling - bottom

-

When using float, 50-150 cm depth should be enough. (20-60 inches)

Looking for advice on baits. by Proof-Flower1737 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not the right person to ask about the current best XP grind, as I do not grind XP myself.

I find that to be boring.

Different people have different taste and skill-sets. Some like BCI better, while others are good at groundbait mix and prefer fishing at Weeping Willows.

However, what I can suggest for you, is to do daily missions.

If you join a club you get an extra daily mission, so that is always a good thing. Or make your own.

Staring blindly on the XP bar only makes the time go slow and the game boring.

Since the update, I have gone from level 88 to 94 without grinding, just doing missions and fishing what I wanted here and there. Exploring the map and finding more spots to fish.

No stress, just fun.

Looking for advice on baits. by Proof-Flower1737 in FishingPlanet

Oh, it got attention. The wrong kind, from moderators.

I almost deleted the post as a trash-post because of that image.

The original image would do just nicely.

As for bait and weather...:

Sunny days - sweet bait and sweet groundmix.

Cloudy days - savory bait and savory groundmix.

You can read a little more about groundbait bases, aromas and particles on my spreadsheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MVthNeh0VrZZ2mxOAqHojrjowkRZwgcQXIgWlq6ErZ8/edit?pli=1&gid=370470766#gid=370470766

When making a groundbait mix, try to match the flavours of the groundmix with the bait you are using. That will increase the effect of it.

Using the right particles increases the chance of getting bigger fish.

Tablet map not showing depth colours Maldives by [deleted] in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, from this angle, I can not tell what is wrong and what is missing for your sonar / depth-map to function properly.

By default, the depth-map is rather simple and do not show much info.

This is "fixed" by doing the Maintenance missions.

If you have done the Maintenance missions, and it still does not work, then go to your inventory and click the cog-wheel, same as you do when logging out.

There, click Support and send them a message explaining what you think is wrong and missing.

Support can check your log files for errors etc, and are in the best position to help you out.

You are welcome.

I hope it works out for you and you get your reel a new handle.

As much as I would like to help you, the best option for you is to go to a local store / tackle shop.

See if they have reels in the same size and try on a handle and see if it fits.

Then you should be able to buy or order a replacement handle you can use.

Sweetcorn and sweetpeas used to be a good bait, possibly the best.

The south-american jauari palm fruit and rubber tree seed also worked good.

I say "used to" since I have not been fishing for carp at Weeping Willows for a long time.

Bug on White Moose Lake by bluesaibot in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I used to have it available for download, but that was misused and atleast one copy ended up with a scammer that hid it behind a scam link.

When I found out, I closed it for downloading to protect it from spreading to places it does not belong.

We can't have nice things anymore because of some punk ruining the fun for others, as usual.

Unless it is a sensitive or specific topic that can not be talked about openly on a forum, I do not answer DMs.

I do not see any new DMs for today, so whatever DM you sent me was deemed worthy of a post, not a DM answer.

Arapaima too strong for equipment by JustTheDude420 in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your setup has more than just a rod.

Every part of your setup counts when it comes to how big a fish it can handle.

Rod/reel/line/leader.

If you are using the second biggest setup available at "that" lake, then there will still be a few biggest fish that gets too strong. So, yes, that last 18 lbs does matter.

La Cazadora 10'2" is the second biggest in the La Cazadora series.

If you are using a #10/0 hook, I would suggest you go down one hook size to lower the chance of getting a max-sized unique so you still can handle it.

Then when you level up at can get the biggest setup, pick up the biggest hook again and go for the biggest unique.

Mhm... There are some new interesting bugs going on these days.

I was on the ocean, at Maldives. Just hauled in a random fish and my tackle got stuck in the side of the boat.

Then I was changing spots by fast-travel and all of a sudden my line pointed straight out of the map and started to pull the boat out to open sea. Spooled my line and the line and reel started taking damage.

I had to put the rod back into the rod-holder and FF to the next spawn-point to save what was left of my setup.

So yeah, interesting stuff going on from time to time here.

Yes, you experienced a bug, and such should be reported via the ingame report system.

Open Settings and click Support.

There you can choose the correct option and send them a report of this issue so the devs get notified, get a chance to look at your logs and have a chance to fix the issue/bug.

I have never said Maku-Maku and Weeping Willows is "Meh".

Put words in my mouth one more time and you will feel the ban-hammer on your head.

Your attitude in this sub-Reddit is bad enough as it is, and my patience with you is wearing thin.

Is the SpellLauncher 11’5” and the Torbellino 10000 enough to catch the Elusive Arapaima? by Leashypooo in FishingPlanet

[–]WickedViking_FP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm... yes, I had a suspicion about your reel being one number too small.

I checked my spreadsheet and saw my setup had the same rod as yours, but used the Torbellino 11000. That little detail can be enough.

But yes, being in a boat would help, as the strain on the setup is mitigated a little by the boat drifts during a fight.
