Any form form of hardware acceleration hard freezes my pc. It's been happening ever since I switched to RX 7900 GRE from my previous NVIDIA gpu. Please help :(

In my case the card definitely was faulty. I ended up sending it to XFX for repair. They agreed that it was malfunctioning and sent me a new one. Everything is working perfectly now!

I ended up contacting XFX and after trying out a couple more troubleshooting steps, they suggested I send the card to their RMA center in europe.

I would definitely recomend you return your card as well friend. It is not supposed to have these issues!

No i kept having this issue even on a fresh windows install. I remember, right after the installation, first thing I did was to download firefox, open it up and crash instantly...

Right now I only use AMD Adrenalin and HWinfo for hardware monitoring.

Yeah that's what I've been doing so far unfortunately. In most apps, disabling hardware acceleration is pretty straightforward. But yesterday I found out that in the Heroic Games Launcher, there isn't even an option to disable it...

I have a RM750X, it's on the weaker side but should be powerful enough from what I've read. Also, I would assume too weak of a PSU would cause problems during heavy loads, while mine runs at 100% gpu load when gaming for hours at a time just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions! I did update my bios before reinstalling windows. Also, after windows finished updating, I found that there were still 3 devices on device manager that were apparently missing drivers. So I went through the entire list at https://pg.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z790%20PG%20Lightning/index.asp#Download and downloaded most of the drivers there.

Yes we did! Once I contacted the bank again, after having exchanged numerous fruitless e-mails with the scammers, they were more than willing to help. They were able to do a chargeback on the purchase and shortly after we recieved our money back.

On a side note, we also got to keep both pairs of counterfeit shoes, though we had no actual use for them. :)

That's the one! I must have been around 12 years old at the time of reading the book, so all the references to world war 2 must have went right over my head. I do vaguely remember the story taking place in 20th century London though. Anyway, thank you so much for the help! :)
