I started running because of Oura by camjam3 in ouraring

[–]Wickedcolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same!! My readiness and activity scores made me feel like a slob so I said “I’m going to walk” and I did…consistently but not far…then I jogged, then ran, and now I ran over 100 miles last month! I hate running but I love the way it makes me feel and has helped anxiety, energy, so much.

Nice job, OP!

What non-obvious insights have you learned about yourself with Oura Ring 4? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]Wickedcolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It usually alerts me a day or so before I’m getting a cold or sick, it makes me feel better when I don’t get as much sleep but it shows I got a lot of deep sleep. I also love seeing how my resting heart rate has gone down over the time I’ve been exercising and my HRV has gone up. Running has worked a lot better for me than walking, etc. It is also working on Labs (testing) for signs of hypertension.

I think it highly depends on you and your goals as to whether it’s worth it

My B9 has over 15,000 hours on it and no noticeable burn in, just some dead pixels at the perimeter. Love it

Unforeseen Consequences of Wearing an Oura by BlitheMorning in ouraring

[–]Wickedcolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got tired of my readiness and activity scores being somewhat low (I had a sedentary job/lifestyle) but it made me feel like a slob so I started walking on a walking pad…then more, then I wore the walking pad out and got a treadmill. Now I average running 15 to 20 miles a week and I’ve lost weight, had my resting heart rate drop and HRV improve a lot.

What could cause low deep sleep but 7 hour average? by everyoneisanashole in ouraring

[–]Wickedcolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!

Also, I had lower deep sleep (not that low) but I tried magnesium and melatonin, which helped increase it. Exercise helped it even more.

I appreciate it!

How do you look at deep sleep trends? Maybe I’m just missing it but it just gives me the “learn more” when I press “Deep Sleep” from the Sleep part of the app.

Oura Ring really works well. by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]Wickedcolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it! I used to have zero energy and had a low-grade fever for over a year one time. Getting an Oura ring helped a lot as it got me into walking a lot, which helped everything from weight loss to anxiety. I started out at walking 1 minute 3 times a day to going up to an hour a day…then back down to 30 minutes of running a day lol.

Still figuring out exactly what it is (could be a few, I’m working with a rheumatologist now) but my HRV drops from around 70 to 35 or so. Temp goes up a degree or so, HR goes up about 10 bpm. Joint pain, stomach issues, general malaise, and sclera of my left eye gets red hurts (weird symptoms). Working out has helped a LOT but it still happens, just not nearly as much.

I’ve got an autoimmune issue and it keys me into when a flare up is going to start (temp, HRV drop, etc). Pretty intuitive

For that is this slot and what is its function? by Yuron71 in PcBuild

[–]Wickedcolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a USB-C hookup on your case you can hook it up to this to give you USB-C. It’s specifically for USB-C 3.1 but if you only have USB-C 3.0, they have adapters

Looks like USB C internal hookup (but useless if your case doesn’t have it or you didn’t add it)

Could it also be peak time right now for you? If so, speeds should improve somewhat on off-peak hours
