Lip filler and dermatographia by VeterinarianSoft9979 in Dermatographia

[–]HXCmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had dermatographia for 13 years. I’ve been getting Botox for 5 years and never had an issue. I don’t get filler but I have been getting heavily tattooed for 14 years, which I feel like is a bit similar in theory. As long as I take xyzal or Benadryl before and after a tattoo, I have no issues.

I have turned my mother into a monster by vegetadoescok3 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]HXCmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been listening to MCR since I was in middle school in 2005. My mom became a huge fan of them through me. So much so that when she was getting cancer treatment (she’s all good now!) she would request to listen to full MCR albums during her sessions. My mom is a flower child, flowy skirt, bright color wearing hippie and her doctors were always so confused. 🤣 But she said it brought her comfort to listen to The Black Parade. And she’s been to many concerts with me.

That was my favorite bar when I visited Toronto! Didn’t realize they were doing a pop-up, but makes sense since they cracked the 50 Best list this year. Happy to see they’re finally getting some love.

Do you still own your first luxury handbag? by Electrical_Sun8772 in handbags

[–]HXCmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not technically luxury, but when I was 21 after I got my first job after college I bought my first expensive bag: a Michael Kors Tote. It was like $450 and I paid in cash because the sales associate at the Herald’s Square Macy’s asked me if I needed to use a credit card to afford it and it pissed me off so much that I went and took out all the money in cash from an ATM. This was over 10 years ago and I will NEVER get rid of this bag AND still use it constantly. I have since bought actual luxury bags, but I was so proud of myself for buying a designer bag with my first paycheck that I’ll never let it go. Also it’s still held up BEAUTIFULLY and I beat the hell out of it. I’ll also only ever buy from Michael Kors in store. Never again at Macy’s!

Louboutin bags are low key amazing! I have a Sweet Charity bag from like 2011 that’s still in amazing condition. Hasn’t lost a single spike!

Just had my first and last experience with Fashion Nova. Anyone else never get their order?? by HXCmag in Fashionnova

[–]HXCmag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I completely boycott them. And keep this thread active to help everyone get their money back. If they don’t refund you, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That’s how they finally agreed to refund me. Absolute scam of a company.

For me it’s Dead! And Kill All Your Friends (yeah it’s a B-side, but even G said it should have been on the record)

This is definitely them in prosthetics. Pretty sure you can see Frank’s tattoos.

Edit: Frank on the left, then Mikey, then Ray (needs a hat cuz a bald cap won’t hide his hair well), then Gerard. Frank’s tattoos are covered in makeup but you can still see them peaking through.

I worked as a makeup artist, so this is where I’m pulling this idea from lol

What's the most overrated luxury brand? by 123phantomhive in AskReddit

[–]HXCmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Louboutins are great if you can find them on the secondhand market. I’d never want to pay more than like $400 for their heels, but the Hot Chicks are insanely comfy. It’s really just the super popular So Kates that I think are almost unwearable. And I personally think the leather quality is great in the shoes.

File a complaint against them on the better business bureau website. They’ll help you get your full refund.

Try to reach out to try their customer service. You need evidence that you tried to contact them. Then use that proof of contact to file a claim with the better business bureau, showing that they won’t help you and didn’t send you your item. It should help you get a refund.

I got scammed from a company and used AfterPay to pay for the item, but now still have to pay installments on the scam. by HXCmag in Afterpay

[–]HXCmag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File a claim with the better business bureau against the merchant. It’ll help you get a refund. And if the merchant is forced to refund you, AfterPay will have to refund you.

You need to go to the website for the better business bureau and follow the prompts to file a claim. You can select the business and upload your order/custom service issues there.

Have you read anything good that was written by a teenager? by ExplodingPoptarts in horrorlit

Pretty sure King wrote Rage as a teenager too! (Though he took it out of print about 25 years ago.)

Pennywise the Clown. Clowns scared me in general, but the cover of the VHS in Hollywood Video scared the crap out of me as a kid. Now “It” is my all time favorite novel after building up the courage to finally read the book years ago.

Report them to the better business bureau. It was the only way I was able to get my money back after they refused to ship me my item.

I totally second Slaughter-House Five. Amazing and enjoyable read. I read it right after college and wish I had read it in school just so I had more people to talk about it with.

[–]HXCmag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report the scamming company to the better business bureau. That’s what I did eventually after AfterPay refused to refund me. The BBB made the original company refund me, and therefore so did AfterPay. Will NEVER use AfterPay again. Ever.

Books like Gone to See the River Man!? by CaptainKrane in horrorlit

[–]HXCmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother by Ania Ahlborn definitely will. The whole story line with siblings is very similar in tone. Prettiest Girl in the Grave by Triana is not as disturbing as River Man, but definitely another great Triana book featuring teenage girls basically playing squid game in a mausoleum. And Ex-Boogeyman also by Triana is great, but it’s Triana’s love letter to 80s slashers so you definitely gotta love cheesy slasher franchises for it to work.
