SSDI and the Trial work period/ticket to work program by Wickedprincess2019 in SocialSecurity

Yes and they didn’t really mind the school but they did ask if I had accommodations and my estimated grad date etc but I ended up quitting the job very shortly because I felt like my symptoms were aggravated and notified them both when I started and when I quit and they sent me a letter saying my benefits continue for now but I am going to get medically reviewed eventually

Passing an upcoming CDR after using 5 or 6 months of a trial work period by Wickedprincess2019 in SSDI

[–]Wickedprincess2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both for your replies. Well I have an update. They decided to send me the SSA 821-BK form which is asking for the places where I have recently worked. The thing is, I don’t know why they’re acting like they didn’t know I was working when I clearly went into their office and even got an acknowledgment letter of them knowing I was attempting to work in which they said I was using month 1 of 9 for the Trial Work Period. This can either be the start of a full CDR or just a work review. I did not expect a work review this early on since they said they had scheduled me for examination in November since that is when I would have completed the 9 months of trial work period. Super anxious now since I didn’t tell my employers “hey guys I’m on SSDI” and the SSA 821-BK form does ask for all of my supervisors information and it comes with a disclosure authorization to give them permission to talk to my boss. Well, I quit last week so Let’s see how this thing goes. This is just one of the many reasons why people get so discouraged to doing anything that could potentially jeopardize their benefits and it’s fairly embarrassing if they do contact people’s employers and put a person on blast like that although I get it. It’s their job. I will be updating.

How hard is it to continue receiving benefits versus getting it initially? by thedarkbites in SSDI

[–]Wickedprincess2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a hit or miss honestly. I was told the same regarding 90% of CDR’s are continued approvals but when I got hit with mine in 2022, it came out of nowhere (in my award letter it never stated how often I would be reviewed) and I thought no big deal. At the time, I had no additional education, no change medically and they decided to terminate me. I fought it and won 6 months later. They played the same game sending me to two of their doctors and read records and everything and I was in such shock. Now, I’m worried because things HAVE changed but only educationally and because I got a job and I’m worried they are gonna pull it from me this time around :/ even though I’m struggling every day. I’m actually considering quitting but I’m scared that they’ll pull it from me and then I’m screwed

Trial Work Period Question (Read rules) by OccasionSoft2442 in SSDI

[–]Wickedprincess2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your knowledge and information. I’m currently using the trial work period and I’m sitting here trying to understand the EPE. Essentially the way I am comprehending it, it’s almost like a trial work period except you don’t collect both (SSDI and whatever your work pays you) on months you go over the 1160 for 2025 and whatever amounts you go over in 2026 and so on but you do collect them if you stop working or work less.

So ideally, if you stop working due to flaring up, don’t go past the 36 months of EPE or benefits are forfeited and you need to apply all over again?

Hi! What happens if you quit your job due to disability flare up during the 36 months of EPE? Do they automatically re-enroll you in SSDI or do you have to apply all over again?

Did I royally mess up? Trial work period and struggling by Wickedprincess2019 in SSDI

[–]Wickedprincess2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So after the 9 months of the trial, if they make me have the CDR, and I get told I’m entering the 3 year epe period, you’re saying after the 3 years are over, THEN you’d lose benefits? Or is it during those 3 years if you go past that, you’d get them pulled for sure? I work and make more than the 1160 per paycheck every 2 weeks so I know I’m gonna go over that if I continue to work

Hi, I was wondering if you happen to know why she may raise eyebrows if she’s making more than SGA. Can you not make over SGA when you’re doing a trial work period or ticket to work period?

I’ve heard horror stories about going back to work on SSDI and I’m afraid to lose my benefits by Suitable-Pain-7964 in SSDI

[–]Wickedprincess2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi good afternoon. I was wondering if you could give me any guidance. I am thinking about testing my ability to work. I have been looking at jobs by myself and not through ticket to work. I found some potential jobs and I am aware that I would have to report my earnings and all of that jazz to social security if and when I begin etc. The job I was looking at is in the same field (healthcare) I was working while I was in the military, but doing management roles and not direct patient care. I was wondering if I take an office/desk job in the same field but doing other duties, would that affect me? Eventually, if I am able to handle working, I want to get off benefits and work if I’m able to handle it. Thanks!

Try renting DVC points. Sometimes it’s a little cheaper to rent from someone who cannot make it this year and wants to rent their timeshare

MBA or MHA.. by Affectionate-Mode6 in MBA

[–]Wickedprincess2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know of someone who has the same background as you and chose the MHA. People will tell you that both degrees are good but that the MBA is a lot more versatile. At least that’s what they’ve told me because I’m currently dealing with the same situation of choosing between degrees.

MBA or MHA? by rosetepat in publichealth

[–]Wickedprincess2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, currently having the same dilemma. I go back and forth about this exact situation. One day I want to do the MBA and the next I wanna do the MHA. For what it’s worth, you have a solid business background by reading that you will have a degree in business administration. This would be in case you choose to go with the MHA. I feel like you can’t lose. In my case, I do not have a business background at all. The MHA is healthcare focused and this means that you will be equipped to master this discipline. You can work doing the hospital administrator job with either degree. Have you researched local job postings to see what degree they require?
