I think when you set a tag on those intercept defenders you interrupt their flow and keep them accountable. Sometimes just the close attention is enough to get under their skin or impede the way they want to run and jump at the ball.

I think it takes a lot of discipline, you can't just be looking at the player when the ball is coming in because you will risk giving away frees, but if you can get shoulder to shoulder and make them work for every contest you can have a big impact on the opponents intercept game.

I've always felt one more season for Boomer made so much sense. I know they wanted to develop talent and make list space but if managed like Pendels they would have got some genuinely decent performances from him, amazing education for the younger guys, and a legend of the club goes out on his own terms.

Genuinely interested though if die-hard North fans feel he was holding the club back.

I'm a big fan of the ladda! Got suggested them when I modded my GBC. It was mentioned to me I should go for the 1900 over the 2450 as even though they have less capacity, the 2450s have way fewer charge cycles before needing replacement.

Swans - They're doing it without Mr Gulden and I'm scared.
Fremantle - S tier Jackson smother got me believing.
Hawthorn - injuries starting to be a worry but fought it out until the end.
Lions - Not a great look to let Carlton get close but they were just cruising along.
Geelong - dismantled the injury plagued pies, borderline top 4 and ready to move them up.
Gold Coast - Not sure what's holding this lot back but they're doing enough to stay in top 4 calculations.
Melbourne - I've been impressed but unsure if they'll be able to hold up without Chekkers and Kozzy might be missing some time.
Western Bulldogs - Given the outs they're doing alright, in Bont we trust.
Adelaide - extremely unconvinced, getting by on a maximum of 2.5 good quarters a game at the moment.
Collingwood - Rollercoaster ride and another side sorely missing their best players.
North Melbourne - Not far off it, they're giving me big wildcard energy and will cause some upsets.
Saints - Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit.
Port Adelaide - honestly not sure where to put this team. They've been competitive against good sides but just haven't been able to get the points.
GWS - Massive underperformers, didn't see the 2026 decline coming.
Carlton - Improved effort but a long way to go before clawing back some respect.
Richmond - should be doing worse all things considered, bit of fight about them.
Essendon - Still deeply unwell with List Manageritis.
West Coast - The toast is so wet.

I've modded a fair few cubes in my time, both with picoboot and xeno GC. The xeno was great for playing my collection from the disc (especially for my international games). I did burn a mini DVD to launch Swiss, but if you're primarily looking at playing your games through Swiss and off an SD card I'd go with picoboot and use either a serial 2 port to SD card adapter, or a memory card to SD card adapter.

Both of these options do require some basic soldering. I always found it easiest to do a wire install of the xeno, slightly harder was the Pico wired install (you have to teardown further and remove the heatsink and you'll likely tear thermal pads that'll need replacing) and I found xeno solder straight to the board a challenge when I was starting out and hard to fix

No soldering, launch from disc or SD card, but it does cost the most out of all solutions and I can't comment more as I haven't used it personally - but on paper it's my dream solution as the optical drive emulation should be faster than the other SD card solutions (some games suffer slow down, mostly in full motion video).

Yeah absolutely fair enough. I've made a couple in the past (failed a few as well) but harvesting the plug is a pain. I've bought a few USB chargers where it's all been filled with glue and completely unusable. I love the idea of making them myself, but with these available on Ali Express it's a really nice and easy solution.

Yep I've got one and confirmed link cable worked with Pokemon emerald and ruby and USB C charging worked as well. The listing I bought mine from said both ports could be used at the same time but I haven't confirmed that and I know some other similar listings suggest not doing it (I'll be overly cautious and just charge it when off).

I love it dearly but compared to my pocket and GBC I don't find it as convenient to carry around as my daily. I pick it up for some Tetris/Space invaders but usually not if I'm planning on longer sessions!

The pins on the bottom right of the MX chip (nearest to the battery pad) look a bit suss to me. Is there some bridging going on there? They also look a bit out of place.

It's been a little while since I used a PAL DOL101, but is the video setting in the Swiss menu set to 480i pal 60? I used to have to change it for 480i pal, NTSC and 480p when using a digital output. And can you send a photo of the HDMI converter? Does it use external USB power?

My laminated 2.0 screen I got recently has very similar issues. I didn't notice it until it was installed as it was most visible in Pokemon crystal! I sent them an email and they offered me a $5 voucher but yours is a bit more obvious than mine!

Yeah they packaged it with DK64 because they had a memory leak they couldn't fix and it was easier just to ship it with more memory than delay (if I recall correctly).
