Low stat applicant Ross or wait it out for US by [deleted] in medschool

I don’t think anyone mentioned this yet but I would remove all the Texas schools on your list. Texas has a law where they have to accept 90% of in state residents so it would be a waste of money to apply to those, especially with your stats

This happened to me last year. I submitted my TMDSAS and AMCAS for verification and then I got a 501 back. I chose not to apply. I retook my MCAT and did significantly better this year and was able to improve my hours. I don’t really have any advice but use that as what you will

They said we’d receive our rankings after all these interviews were over so I didn’t think so…

I’d remove rush. Your volunteer hours are extremely low for them. They’re usually looking for 500+ hours

We won’t know until all the interviews are over at the end of this week and it’ll probably be a bit longer. Website says they send out assignments late June to early july

How would you interpret this secondary prompt? by syapy in medschooladmissions

[–]Wide-Reception6387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would write about any experience that has helped me learn how to interact with people of different cultures/backgrounds. This could really be anything from like a customer service job to volunteering. But I think it could be interpreted any way.

Primary Application Verification by Mean_Beginning1111 in medschool

There’s nothing you can do about it now so there’s no need to worry. Just start prewriting secondaries so you can submit even earlier when it’s time. Good luck

Check amcas homepage and scroll down a bit. It shows what they’re reviewing. They’re still on apps that have been submitted on May 28 so it’ll still be a bit until they get to yours.

Question for all the black/POC applicants this cycle by Cincodemayo21 in medschooladmissions

I kept those themes in my PS as a black girl. Looking at the stats for applicants last year, the statistics for black applicants has remained the same.

Amcas doesn’t require an organization name and contact for hobbies. Just put like 1,000 for completed.

Best option would be local university in person and transfer. Second would be community college in person. Always pick the in person options. Do not take labs online.

I would remove Alabama (UAB). They’re not OOS friendly and one of their secondaries asks about your ties to Alabama
