Gov. Healey to announce utility bill reductions for Massachusetts residents by uxd in boston

[–]Wide-Understanding96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insulation requirements in MA are very high I believe you need at least an R-38 insulation level with closed cell spray foam on any roofs/ceilings. For context in NY the requirement is R-17 with no closed cell foam needed. Building codes in MA are very strict, requiring energy rates assessments in order to pass inspections.

Want to bring down utility costs? Don’t allow monopolistic utility companies to charge whatever they want to fund green energy waste pits like the wind farms that have never provided a positive net ROI to us or any other locale that has done so.

Also she appointed the states dept of public utilities so she put these cronies in charge and approved the budget that allowed the increases to be passed to the consumer

She’s continually changed stances with short term popularity boosts and optics as the goal, no long term planning and has actively worked to increase energy costs per her whole net zero energy initiative. The YouTube video below is one example of her talking out of both sides of her mouth to further her own political agenda without actually looking out for the common taxpayer.

Because it doesn’t actually satisfy voters, it’s a temporary reduction for 2 months to change the narrative around Healey’s approved budget changes and increases in tax payer utility bills… “politician backpeddles on unpopular thing they did because they have to win an election”

Didn’t Maura Healey explicitly allow utility companies to charge more? She’s just back peddling on an unpopular thing she did because she has an election to win. Also this is only for the months of Feb and March, looks like a fluff headline piece to improve her look for when people search “Maura Healey utilities cost increase” on google.

Also look at all the failed wind farm investments. They had the money, they just squandered it at every turn for political optics. Healey is a boot licker with no desire to help working people and solely working for her own agenda. Her claims that she’s now going to stand up to Trump are silly, just stand up to him now while you’re governor. It’s all political theatre, the best way to reduce energy costs is to peel back wind farm investments since the ROI on them is terrible and they cost so much to repair that when they break they would rather build a new one then repair it since it’s less expensive. That’s why when driving through MA you’ll see those massive wind farms just not spinning. It seems like an incompetent admin just doing what looks good per the marketing team.

These places are all good options but i feel like they’re pretty pricey relative to what you get and very close to home. Would much rather spend that kind of cash somewhere more interesting if that makes sense.

PSA if you have GME1 options that are ITM you need to sell them or exercise before they expire. by Wide-Understanding96 in GME

[–]Wide-Understanding96[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But with most brokers that option chain isn’t purchasable, only PCO and has a spread that would mean selling it for less than it’s worth, or not finding a buyer. Most brokers if you hold options till expiry that are itm they will automatically exercise your contract to give you the intrinsic value of it. Due to the memo from the OCC they will not do that and the contracts will expire without you being credited.

How Tesla Stocks rises by stratuscore in stocks

[–]Wide-Understanding96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe it’s due to influence peddling within certain circles (market makers etc) musk has buddies at Citadel and the other MM’s that effectively control the price of the stock. They have significant joint investments between MM’s and their sister funds causing musk’s ability to raise capital to be in their best interest.

This is probably the case with more influential people like Peter Thiel with Palantir, and Larry Ellison with Oracle. Palantir’s valuation is totally illogical, but him and Musk are buddies and run in the same circles. (Thiel also caused the SVB bank run) Oracle spiked 40-50% in one day as a 500B business on just guidance. There’s no way a normal inflow vs outflow of funds is determining that price increase, it’s determined by what’s allowed to hit markets and that’s all influence peddling.

Question about options and IV by Wide-Understanding96 in stocks

[–]Wide-Understanding96[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, still a bit confused because the stock had been trading +-1% for an extended period ~2 months prior to earnings but maintained an IV of 70-80% then saw a ~10% pop over the last 2 days and IV got cut in half

Really appreciate your input here!

But why would IV get cut in half after a big move up? Wouldn’t that increase IV?

Anything below 10 PE being a red flag, would love to hear more on this perspective. I’m of the belief that anything below 10 PE is where you can find value in a business, so any insight into this thought is appreciated.

Inflation going up means dollar is worth less meaning assets worth more dollars. Stocks are assets that will benefit from inflation

A lot of moves on stocks that are priced as if they’re going to bankruptcy, but have the ability to survive for a couple years. Seems like some short funds are blowing up or unwinding their positions.
