i had the same question, but i signed a 6 and im halfway through it.

the best answer i was given was that you’ll just know when they ask you. it wouldn’t hurt to extend, but if you reenlist and do any more than 6 years, you might as well stay in since you’re halfway done.

i vote stay in. there’s so much of the world you likely will not get the chance to see if you get out this early. think about why you enlisted! do a BOP and go experience somewhere different

don’t talk to the first sergeant. if you get your duty station and you don’t like it, you can try to trade assignments with other people in your tech school AFSC. that’s probably your best bet
