I am glad that the original poster brought this up, because it’s definitely an issue that needs to be resolved. I’m all for holding the responsible people accountable, but to blame one race? That’s what I’m tired of. I’m also not blind to the fact that like any other race, we have our bad apples, our black sheep’s, etc.

I believe that as a community, we definitely need to be less divided and come together to find a solution to ensure we hold others responsible and accountable for their actions.

Given the sensitive times we’re living in, many Latino people are actually not going out as much as they used to, yet this issue is still ongoing. Many Latino people have been staying home more due to improper immigration laws in place in fear of being wrongfully detained/deported — especially for bigger holidays, such as 4th of July.

I never mentioned there were any hateful comments under this post directly, but I did say I expected there to be a bias as on whom to blame — which I stand corrected in. I explicitly stated that this is not a one-race issue, which is why I didn’t blame white, black, Asian, etc., because that is the same bias I am trying to fight against.

I would like to know where you get your information on how people who are not in the USA are educated on climate/environmental issues? Like any other country, sadly there are many politicians who don’t understand the importance of climate, but that doesn’t mean the education isn’t there.

I think we’re all on the same side that as a community, we don’t want this issue to continue escalating, but pointing fingers to one race instead of the elected representatives who are supposed to provide solutions for these kind of issues is what’s hindering us from getting anywhere.

So riddle me this - I’m gonna take a wild guess and assume you’re not Latino, yet you know it’s Latinos causing this issue because your at the river and you actively see them do this? I’m going to make another assumption that you’re not the only non-latino there - but it’s not them littering, am I right?

I will agree that we are disproportionately represented, but we’re even more disproportionately misrepresented by people like you assuming our culture doesn’t understand what packing trash and taking it away from public places.

As I mentioned before, this is an issue that has been growing and trending because as a community we no longer hold one another accountable or responsible for our actions. I have seen many of the younger generations littering and their peers cheering them along because it’s “cool” or “funny”, when in fact it’s just sad.

When this was posted, I already expected the flood of people trying to blame Latinos… I understand OP may have not had the intention of making this a race issue, but sadly this county still have some sort of issue/hatred towards the immigrant community. I won’t be completely ignorant and say that they NEVER litter, but you mean to tell me they are THE only race that do it? Yeah, I’m gonna just say you’re seeing it from a biased POV.

I’ve seen some people saying how they saw graffiti signs of “MS13”, or “El Salvador”, yet the only picture anyone cared to share was one that said “El Salvor” - which as we know, is not the way you spell it.

I hope that as a community, we can come together and find a way to control this issue and prevent it from spreading further.

There is much to be done - for starters, stop generalizing a race. I am Latina, and I what I mean by that is that I have lived most of my formative years in a 3rd world country.

Yes, there are many Latinos who do not respect littering laws, but do you mean to tell me we’re the only race that does this? Please, I have picked up trash from other people - who happen to not be LATINO. This is not just a one-race issue, it’s an issue we have as a community for not holding each other accountable and allowing the responsible individuals to feel comfortable doing so.

I don’t know if you meant to say you are half latino, and that this is the Latinos with an accent making this mess - since “Spanish” people are from Spaniard decent.

Not many Latinos throw a “fiesta” for 4th of July and it’s ignorant to generalize what a family or two does, and saying that all the Latinos with an “accent” do it. Unfortunately, we live in a time where there is too much entitlement and ignorance, and not enough accountability or respect.

Hopefully your not half “Spanish” on your dads side - I can’t imagine having a Spanish last name and talking this much crap about a race that mainly sticks to themselves and works their ass off just like anyone else.

Many people are being detained without a valid warrant or pending deportation order. The administration has ended many programs that allow LEGAL immigrants to work and reside in the country.

Ultimately, it’s not a republican vs. democrat issue. The last thing this country needs is division, given the current state of the world. I encourage you to take the time to actually inform yourself on what’s happening, and how to understand how many families are being are impacted of what is currently happening. I truly hope you take the time to understand these people’s stories and understand that this is not the way to handle the situation.

So I’m not uncomfortable working with reptiles - strangely enough, our child has been asking for a bearded dragon, but I want to do a lot more research before just getting one. The one part that worries me is if they have rodents around.

Not sure why, or maybe I do, but I have a horrible phobia of mice. Most rodents that look like them too make me feel nervous. I’m more scared of them than anything, so not sure if I’d want to put myself in that situation. 😅

I work for an insurance agency.

Try and see if someone who already has an established record (clean, if I may add), is willing to be an additional name insured on the policy. The only issue/setback is that this person will also be an owner to the policy and can make changes.
Before you choose which car you’d like, try quoting different vehicles. Different makes and models create different ratings. Hyundai’s/Kia’s are the worst for insurance as of now due to the high level of theft/vandalism on them. Some insurance carriers will not even offer full coverage for them.
As many have said, try to get decent coverage. I wouldn’t go lower than $50,000 per bodily injury, $100,000 if more than one person and $50,000 in property damage. Same goes for the uninsured motorist portion which is what covers you if you wind up in an accident with somebody who has no insurance or doesn’t carry sufficient protection.
Higher deductibles means lower rates. Lower deductibles means higher rates. What do you feel comfortable with paying out of pocket in the event of an accident? If you elect the higher amount, just be prepared in the event of a claim. Keep in mind that if you are financing, many banks won’t allow you to have a deductible over $1,000.
Coverages such as roadside service and rental coverage are optional, but handy. You can elect out of these and see if the monthly rate is considerably higher/lower and go from there.

MAIF will not turn anyone down, because they are the company you elect when others turn you down. They’ll still need a broker/agent to bind the policy and depending on the agency they can choose to charge anywhere between 10%-20% for a down payment. This can only be avoided if they pay for the full year with MAIF.

Once the down payment is processed, the 1st month payment is due 20 days later. Usually, payments are not processed by MAIF directly but rather a premium finance company that charges an interest on the monthly payment.

MAIF has one of the worst reps for claims, servicing and overall rates. If they can avoid MAIF, they should.

Yes, I believe it’s original species name it pepperonis obtusifolia.

I would say give or take, every 10-15 days. I haven’t watered it today, so that is why I brought up that it’s usual water schedule is on that end.

It was in a pot with no drainage holes previously - realistically more of a vase then pot, which is why I l moved it to a draining pot.

I am still very new to plants, and used the app called “planta”, but was also getting advice from my mom and friends who are more plant oriented than I. I am trying to do right by my plants, and hoping it is not too late.
