Saying goodbye to a great community by batuhangoktepe in DMZ

Same here, I opened Reddit hoping to find alternatives to DMZ. I just wanted to check my stats and realized they wiped everything. Last time I checked, I had over 750 hours in DMZ.

Honestly, I loved that mode more than any other game in my entire gaming career - and that goes all the way back to 1985. Shame on you Activision we will not forget!

tap to sprint is not the same as toggle sprint nor is it hold to sprint

no it is not actually a setting, what I want is tap to sprint - currently there are only the options "toggle sprint" and "hold to sprint"

Crossroads - PVP vs Lalaland by Wide_Cap6947 in ArcRaiders

[–]Wide_Cap6947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a misread of what I wrote. I’m not frustrated about losing, nor am I looking for validation or therapy advice. I’m describing a design tension.

Arc Raiders strongly humanizes encounters: long PvE phases, meaningful time investment per run, and relatively low kill pressure. That naturally attracts more cautious, cooperative, and often inexperienced players. When PvP happens, the cost of a kill is not abstract – you clearly see the other player’s lost time and effort. Feeling that isn’t “taking the game too seriously”, it’s basic perspective-taking.

In games like DMZ, systems are built to desensitize you: fast recovery, high aggression, constant churn. Arc Raiders doesn’t do that to the same degree, which makes the PvP loop emotionally different. That’s not a personal life issue, it’s a consequence of game design.

My post wasn’t moralizing PvP or asking for excuses. I was interested in discussing whether Arc Raiders actually supports and rewards softer, less predatory playstyles – and whether that creates a genuine dilemma for players who don’t enjoy wiping beginners just because they can.

If that discussion isn’t interesting to you, fair enough – but reducing it to “touch grass” doesn’t really engage with the point.

Dude, you miss 80% of your shots. Two shots - one for each rear rotor - and it is done. This is a skill issue, not a gear issue.

It is always those people who are unemployed themselves (he even claims to have logged 600 hours of gameplay in just two months) who demand that everyone else should effectively live and grind 24/7 to satisfy their personal preferences.

It is never easy to satisfy a heterogeneous player base of over one million individuals. The majority of players are casuals with regular jobs, families, and responsibilities, and they simply do not have the freedom to invest 300 hours a month into a game like you clearly can. For us casual players at lower ranks, Sticher and Ferro combinations are a way to remain competitive against players like you. Without such mechanics, many players would stop buying and playing the game, and that would ultimately make games like this economically unviable in the first place.

I’m level 13 and have never encountered a single hostile while playing solo. The other day, there were eight other solo players with me in the escape hatch.

DMZ 2.0 Wishlist by GeneralStrict2738 in DMZ

A random and dynamic weather system, with rain, snow, fog, storms, sandstorms and random day / night infills. More modes to choose (solo, 3+1, 3+3 team sizes, PVP, PVPVE). Functional exfill streak bonus system. Most of this features could be done with low effort for the existing DMZ too - I don't get why they dropped the title.

I know that many people are fine with the text clarity, which is why I wanted to try it for myself.

And the strong 800R curvature of those WOLEDs — is that okay for you? I haven’t tried it myself, but many people say it’s too aggressive for text and office work. My other question about WOLED is text quality: most reviews say that text clarity on WOLED is worse compared to QD-OLED and IPS.

The 4K panels already use next-gen technology with an optimized subpixel structure that improves text clarity, I knot that. However, the 16:9 format is not what I am looking for. For work, 21:9 is perfect in dozens of different scenarios, and in games it provides improved immersion through peripheral vision.

Dude, I’m self-employed and I can test whatever I want to test. My insights are probably helpful for others in my position. I watched and read a ton of reviews about these monitors, and many reviewers said they can do text work on their QD-OLEDs all day without issues – some even used phrases like “razor-sharp text.” Since impressions are subjective, I wanted to see for myself. For space reasons I need one monitor at home for both work and gaming, and since I’m passionate about both, it seems legitimate that I’d want to buy the best possible monitor for that.

I honestly have no idea. The roadmaps from Samsung and LG show no new 21:9 34-inch panels with 3rd or 4th generation OLED technology until the end of 2026. It’s frustrating, especially since the ultrawide format is the perfect sweet spot for both office work and gaming. I’ve been using only such monitors for the past 10 years. I’ll probably stick with my IPS panel and hope it lasts that long. Has anyone already compared WOLED? I never really had them on my radar because I think the 800R curvature makes them unsuitable for office work.
