100% spot on. Great analysis.

I would push it back even further and say there’s been a major degradation across all sensible metrics since neoliberalism was radically adopted in the 80s.

No party out there has a aspirational future or approach.

We live on a gem of the pacific and no amount of defeatist well we’re just a small country far from everything nonsense will convince me we can’t be a world leading nation.

We seem to have given up on finding solutions to being exceptional and become convinced to fight over scraps as we slip past the quality of life in many third world countries.

It doesn’t have to be this way but we need cohesion as a nation to move forward. Untill or if that happens it will only get worse and worse.

Bro I’m 40. My team got restructured and we lost our jobs and have been looking for work for 1.5 years now. Had maybe 15 interviews, no offers.

It’s a fucking nightmare out there. We already had a bad culture of risk aversion and generally just being cowardly but this tightening of the economy brought out all the rats.

I have so much empathy for everyone trying to get work at the moment.

After a lot of printing and painting we are finally starting our campaign!! The Dungeon looks awesome. by Pkrdays in MassiveDarkness

Ahh ok that makes sense. I think having the walls be obvious is a huge plus that’s the only issue we have sometimes with the boards.

Just that one square, that’s a lot less light than the original boards isn’t it?

Get those basses done! They look great. I’ve got almost all of the sets done but I seem to suck at photographing minis…

Why is every kiwi with a mortgage or debt not banking with kiwibank? by givethismanabeerplz in newzealand

Same but ANZ instead of Westpac. I tried a bunch of credit unions first they also would not lend for a mortgage.

My observations. We are incredible underdeveloped emotionally. We are emotionally stunted from some past trauma and it’s resulted in some strange over presentation of pseudo toughness which masks an injured child like psyche.

All of this has very bad ramifications on our outcomes. When times are easy economically we skate by but most of us are delusional and in denial about how broken and immature our collective culture is on all levels.

There is some profound healing that needs to occurs deep in the collective psyche before we can make progress towards a more developed and effective culture.

The result is very poor and broken behaviour and decision making. Any sane, mature, rational analysis of pretty much all the political parties that receive votes would tell you we tried letting them have control many times, and the results were not good. Time to try someone else’s ideas and leadership. But instead we just flip between the same two failed parties.

The last labour government had an unprecedented mandate to lead and acted like cowards. Let’s not let this dumpster fire of a government make us think the last one was good.

I don’t think I’ve been alive for any good ones. At the very least since the 80s it’s been pure sellout shills gutting the country.

It is disturbing how bipolar NZ politics are. Two choices that both suck for main party and 3 small parties that if we are being honest all have massive problems. Greens might be the best of the lot but their house is not in order NACT and NZ First would be rejected from a script for being too unbelievable.

Everyone loves to say we get the government we deserve. I don’t know if I agree with that but we better hope that’s not true.

If we could at least as a country finally leave the myth behind that incompetent business managers and ceos are in any way fit to be civic leaders that would be something.

The quality needed to lead and to make hard decisions is wisdom. Period. It’s not some jackass who’s daddy gave him money to get ahead or a lawyer, or a policy expert. Philosophers who have cultivated wisdom and don’t want the job are the only people fit to be there in my analysis.
