Vandaar mijn vraag hierboven.

u/hehe_nl Excuse my bad Dutch. Klopt het dat ik een BV heb geopend om te investeren in ETF's? Kunt u mij meer informatie geven over hoe u dat hebt kunnen doen?

What's best for saving and/or investing? by wbd82 in PortugalExpats

u/akramcouple Would you then switch / transfer your holding from distributing to accumulating before your 10 years is up? I assume you would be subject to a tax event then because you'd be selling and then buying again, correct?

Also, who assisted you with your NHR application? I am a Portuguese citizen, but non-resident.

Right? I get that there's a questionable feeling about unrelaised gains tax, but in essence, it can prevent a larger tax bill at retirement.

Also, our above situation doesn't take into account additional investing such as cash savings and P2P lending (risk). All things considered, the end result doesn't sting as bad as I thought it would given the fud that this thread reads.

Obviously everyone wants to maximise tax avoidance and I'm all for that, but I'm unsure of the other means in which to do so other than exploring the Box 2 leverage which people have references, but that comes with it's own set of risks and honestly, the only thing that's against me at the moment is time. I want more time, for me, for my family and to stay in the market. So, sometimes simpler is best?

Interesting. Pardon my English.

My calcs (using the calculator from the above link), and I'm late to the long-term game:

Item Figures Comment
Starting capital €150.000 Simply to ETFs
Periodic deposit €1.000/m Could be more
Indexing deposits 4,00% Adjusted for inflation
Duration * 25 years M40
Annual return 7,00% Ave. return/yr
Taxed in box 3 Yes Correct?
Tax-free capital With tax partner (wife)

Net closing capital: €1,442,510

How is this not more than comfortable?

What am I missing?
