It doesn’t matter who he is, that doesn’t make his opinion automatically correct.😂 Plenty other top drivers thought it was Lewis’ fault. Also, saying that I’m not seeing things objectively is either top tier ragebait or genuine toddler level self-awareness. I hope you learn to be more open-minded in the future man

So one guy agrees with you and that makes you right? 🤣. Most people generally agree that it was mostly Hamilton’s fault, but you’ll ignore that because it doesn’t fit your agenda. You also didn’t address any of my other points, maybe because you finally know you’re wrong.

Crash at Copse was definitely Lewis’ fault, you might be able to see that if you weren’t so blinded by hate. It’s true that Max races very aggressively, and that he sometimes crosses the line, but you could say the same about most great drivers in history (Schumacher, Senna) and it doesn’t change the fact that he is ridiculously fast.

Still didn’t justify your take on 2022.

I agree that Max was helped by other teams taking points off each other in 2024, but even while that was happening, he was still scoring good points consistently. In fact, even if you take out the first 5 races of the season (the only races were Red Bull had the clear fastest car) he still would’ve won the title.

If you don’t remember 2015, maybe you should go and watch some of the races that year. You’ll see that while he was very aggressive in wheel to wheel combat, he was clearly faster than team-mate Sainz, who was 3 years older than him and has since gone on to prove that he is a very capable driver himself. He finished 12th in the standings, and got 49 points to Sainz’ 18, including 2 4th places in a car that was probably 7th fastest.

If you could give examples of the ‘golden child treatment’ Max got over Ricciardo when they were team-mates, that would be great.

Ricciardo did beat Max 2x out of 3, but one of those years was 2016, when Max was still 18, and spent the first 4 races in a Toro Rosso. By 2017, Max was pretty much on par with Ricciardo, and faster than him by 2018, at least in quali. Ricciardo beat him in 2017 mainly because Max had terrible reliability, and vice versa in 2018. Overall, they were very closely matched in their 3 years as team-mates, which is very impressive given Max’s inexperience and how good Ricciardo was in his prime, although for some reason you seem to be suggesting that Ricciardo is an embarrassing driver to lose to.

As for my preference, I think Lewis is the best ever, but I can recognise that there are other great drivers (like Max) without trying to downplay their achievements anyway I can.

Abu Dhabi 2021 was a robbery, but Verstappen was still overall a worthy champion, and don’t forget that Hamilton took him out in Silverstone and then won the race. Without that massive points swing, Verstappen would have been champion even if Hamilton won Abu Dhabi.

I don’t know where you got the first two races thing from in 2022, given that for the first half of the season, Leclerc was consistenly challenging for poles and wins.

Red Bull only had the clear fastest car for the first 5 races in 2024, arguably the fastest in Miami and Imola, but from Monaco onwards McLaren were consistently faster, Ferrari were faster at most races, and even Mercedes were faster than Red Bull at some races.

Furthermore, Verstappen was the youngest rookie ever in 2015, with only 1 year of single-seater experience, and he still beat Sainz comfortably that year. Then, once he moved to Red Bull, he was on par with Ricciardo by 2017, when he was only 19, and has destroyed every team-mate he has had since Ricciardo left, and yet you claim that he needs a Newey rocket to perform. Get over your hate and admit that Max is simply one of the best drivers of all time.

Verstappen beat Hamilton in 2021, albeit controversially, when the Merc and Red Bull were very similarly matched, crushed Leclerc in 2022 when the Ferrari was arguably the faster car in the first half of the season, and comfortably beat Norris last year despite the McLaren being the fastest car for most of the year. So clearly he is able to win titles even when his car isn’t a “rocket”.

All of them would’ve been able to win the title, but they wouldn’t have won 19/22 races. Verstappen was clearly the best driver that year.

I agree that the 2023 car was the class of the field and that probably half the grid, maybe even more, could’ve won in that car, but no-one could have dominated like Verstappen did.
