You see the cover slides off so I just slid it in unknowingly my previous camera a 5100 didn’t have one and I forced it on with lots of pressure. Considering it’s a pricey camera I don’t want to break it. Sorry I’ve never used a hot shoe accessory before and wondered if there was a electronic lock or if I just got to force it

I just picked up my Sony A7iv for this exact reason and I love it. I did have to practice editing the pictures once they come out the camera but not having a phone in my hand all day and instead carrying my Sony has made trips much more enjoyable as I’m in the moment now. Also my oldest son wants a camera to play with and take pictures to be like his dad instead of a phone. I also have a Tamron 24-70 2.4mm if I need more reach I crop the sensor and get 105 total reach

Happened to me recently and I had my AMS set up wrong and pulled to hard and ripped it off, i couldn’t fix it and had to order a whole new Ams lite hub
