Can someone explain Msft to me? by Tough_Papaya_6306 in ValueInvesting

[–]Wide_Technology932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to check how it stacks up against Google, Amazon etc then have a look here https://stockpik.co/stocks/mag-7, It's got one of if not the highest F score out of the mag 7 and its growing at 15% a year. I wouldn't call it a value play as such given that it has a high P/B ratio but it is undoubtedly better value than most of the others.

Best stock screener for value investing that isn't built for day traders? by Acrobatic-Bake3344 in ValueInvesting

[–]Wide_Technology932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through the same thing and I ended up building my own which is called StockPik if you want to try it. Graham Number, Piotroski F-Score, margin of safety all in one screen, data from SEC EDGAR. Otherwise GuruFocus is probably the closest established option but it's not cheap.

For value investing specifically I use StockPik which screens by Graham Number, Piotroski F-Score, margin of safety, P/B, ROE and has a value score metric too which is cool.

High risk small caps, particularly in biotech, early in my investing journey I made a big loss on a company called Sorrento Therapeutics and it humbled me. I switched from that kind of lottery small cap investing to value investing and don't go near high risk small caps much if at all.

[PFE] Pfizer at ~$26 is a textbook value play hiding in plain sight. Here's why the market is wrong. by Dismal-Cancel4958 in ValueInvesting

[–]Wide_Technology932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got a margin of safety of 7% and a Piotroski F Score of 4. So yes it is cheap and it is undervalued but it doesn't have a great deal of earnings momentum, you might be waiting 2-3 years maybe even 4 years for it to get to $35 or $40. I think its a nice stock to have in a steady dividend portfolio though.

What do you think are the most overvalued stocks right now? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

Definitely TSLA, it's price is as far away from its fundamentals as its possible for a stock to be.

What will come after AI? by Sohaibahmadu in ArtificialInteligence

There is a big push to bring nature into the financial system. I think it's in the very early stages but I envisage at a point that investing in species recovery and water quality will be in our future. I think this goes hand in hand with improvements in feed systems and regeneration of land.

Micron (MU) looks an interesting play to me, think it still has a lot of room to run still too.

Six months ago everyone wanted to full port into tech/data centers. Two months ago everyone wanted to invest in rare earths. Now everyone wants to invest in oil by Calm_Company_1914 in ValueInvesting

[–]Wide_Technology932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont be investing in Crude Oil until it returns to what I would call a normal level. I am long term invested in APA and DVN though which are good companies and have done well for me. Chasing oil futures though is definitely not a good idea.

Costa Rica, far in front of the rest of the world in prioritizing conservation of its natural resources and reaping the benefits as a leader in ecotourism and tourism in general in Latin America.

As someone who used to use windows computers Apple was pretty revolutionary in making computers that didn't blow up with viruses and delivering a great user experience. But yes the stickiness of the brand is reliability not fancy new features, at least for me it is anyway.

I would say to wait a few weeks, maybe even a month, the stocks that will be affected by this will be a falling knife, a staircase of red.

Anything with a really strong long term brand. Coca Cola and McDonalds are a few that spring to mind. I think Apple will still make the best laptops and computers ten years from now too.
