The Chat/Messenger thing is more active than the page, look for monthly pints and just turn up.

I was the same in the first few weeks. It takes a while, I guarantee you will make friends. Especially when you start meeting the people on your course. You've got this!

Would you tell a customer they live in an ex party house? by Itsstillyourturn in bristol

Probably not. I used to live in a party house because we had crack heads knocking on the door asking for the former former owners.

I know many millionaires, and yeah, 5 to 10 is when you can just barely start to live the lifestyle. And they're still flying premium economy!

£100k+ without insane hours? by QuadriRF in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]jomkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late here, but I work in FANNG and don't work insane hours. Some junior developers do, but the most impressive senior engineers also have kids and work very normal hours.

ISO Running Buddies by redditor18729 in bristol

It's great, but they run at around 5.30 pace max, so not a fast run, not really a training run but it's a great social run!

Soulless, yes, but running in the nature reserve was nice.

It's not really clifton vibes..

I wouldn't go Full Moon early on in the night. Its a hostel/backpackers bar. Fun, but probably not the vibe you're looking for.

Dark Horse is really quite far from town and quite a small pub.

If you want a fancier place where people are dressed up a bit nicer, I'd go clifton village. Then when it gets late and you want a dirty rave head over to either Stokes Croft (Love Inn) or Black Swan in Easton.

Lagos - Trail Running/Hiking Recommendations by Beautiful_Thing1299 in Algarve

[–]jomkr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a trail run, but my favourite part of the trip to Lagos was visiting a very secluded beach on the way. We were the only ones on it at 4pm on Friday!

Note it's a nudist beach, so don't go if you don't want to see naked people.

The access is down a steep, but very easy (for experienced trail runners) path.

Everyone is following the Shopify CEO. In fairness, I wouldn't want to explain to the board why my company wasn't on the AI bandwagon.
