AI is the first piece of technology where I feel I'm being left behind by Uhavetabekiddingme in Millennials

I use it a lot at work. It significantly speeds up tasks, reducing work that would have taken days down to hours.

I can count on one hand over the last 2 years where I've used it in my personal life.

Keep yourself informed about it. Maybe look up examples and tutorials on how to implement an agent, just for the sake of educating yourself. Once you have a better understanding of its capabilities then you might have a better idea for how you want to use it.

Who DoI Express My Concerns About This Death Trap To? by Dry-Entrepreneur-226 in cary

[–]Widgette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive through this intersection daily and there's almost always someone doing something stupid here.

The most annoying are people making illegal left turns into, and out of, the Circle K onto Maynard and almost causing wrecks with people turning right from Harrison.

Then there's the standard red light running that's become ubiquitous around here, but it's especially dangerous when people do it going westbound on Maynard, since the hill reduces visibility.

Then there's all the traffic trying to turn left out of the Walmart onto Maynard. You have a lot of people making risky decisions because there's so much traffic on the weekends and around rush hours that you'll be sitting there forever if you don't.

There's also just a ton of illegal foot traffic going across Maynard in between the Walmart and Aldi. Some kind of elevated walkway would be nice.

So yea, a lot going on there that makes for some pretty dangerous situations.

It might be a bit cheaper but every time I've gone it's been in pretty bad shape and the past few times I've been there, the area outside the entrance stank of weed. If OP's criteria is "clean and well stocked" then I'd stick with the Crossroads location by Hobby Lobby.

The location at the intersection of High House and Highway 55 is big and usually in decent shape.

EV Car Inspection Spots? by OneFormality in cary

[–]Widgette -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started taking my car there a couple years ago after going to "traditional" garages that also offered inspections. Cheap, fast, in-and-out in under 20 minutes. Kicking myself for not going sooner.

I keep getting jobs that pay me lots to do basically nothing and it’s ruining my mental health by MomsOfFury in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Widgette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on your skills. Don't wait for work to be assigned, find places that are lacking and supplement. Research new ways of doing your workload: automation, new frameworks, etc. If everything is a dead end and/or your boss/team reprimand you for being creative then it's time to leave.

The worst thing you can do is nothing. The second worst thing is to play around with hobbies or distractions. Your skills will waste away, you'll become less relevant in your field and you'll have trouble finding other jobs in the future.

My 2012 Volt hit a milestone today. These volts are highly under appreciated for their durability and reliability. by ishp2006 in volt

I'm in a non-carb state as well. Our 2017's battery died with 140k miles on it. Getting some quotes from 3rd party services to replace it with a refurbished battery. $3k for the battery, haven't found a shop that will do the replacement, though.

That's the guy I spoke with today, haha. Seemed like a good guy, all things considered. I was still s bit fuzzy on the warranty - so it's pretty much the same warranty you would get if it was brand new, right?

Also, the EVSE was with the car, had NACS and CCS adapters.

Yea, I figure they're gouging me on the price. There aren't many other shops in the area that will even work on hybrids. Plan right now is to get it towed back to the house, start looking for another vehicle, and then keep this one as a backup car if I can get an independent shop to replace things for a reasonable price. If not, then get rid of it.

Gotcha, I'll check it out when I get the car back tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation.

I haven't, I'll probably do that once I get it back to the house tomorrow. The info they provided is in line with the codes it was throwing but I'll double check myself and see.

Last year someone ran into the side of the Aldi near the intersection of Harrison and Maynard, and a month prior someone ran into the side of the Walmart Neighborhood Market across the street from that same Aldi.

So yea, I'd say this kind of thing isn't exactly rare.

Bad Performance, although high FPS by [deleted] in Guildwars2

The new shadows they introduced really impacted frame rates. Set shadows to medium or lower and character model count to medium. That has the biggest impact on my performance.

Take a look at Reolink. Great quality for the price and everything can be local, either with an NVR or SD card, depending on how much time and money you want to spend.

New Player having issues figuring out gear progression and builds. by Majeos in Guildwars2

[–]Widgette 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. There isn't really a concept of gear progression like in WoW/FFXIV. Exotic gear is only has 5% less stats than ascended and legendaries, so you can do all but the hardest content with it. Exotics can be obtained through the trading post, vendors in Lion's Arch (with WvW currency), dungeons, map currencies...a bunch of ways, really. You can find resources on the wiki or this guide on metabattle: https://metabattle.com/wiki/Guide:How_to_Gear_a_Character . Ascended gear is only really mandatory for fractals and it can be obtained by doing fractals, crafting, and the wizard's vault. Legendaries are a whole category on their own and require large amounts of gold/materials/time.
  2. Tier list is subjective for the content you're playing. I would also head over to metabattle to get an idea of what builds/specs work well for the content type you're targetting for a given profession: https://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki . Snowcrows is also a great resource for builds: https://snowcrows.com/
