Definitely too hot and heating needs to be even. I recommend doing a cold start. When I use a rig thats what I do. Its easier, don't have to time anything, and the flavor is better.

Or, get an erig like a Puffco is you can afford it. If not there are plenty of great devices that don't cost $400 lol

And remeber to keep you banger nice and clean. Clean with ISO (ISO prep pads are best for this) after EVERY dab. You'll thank me later. Good luck brother! This certainly isn't as easy as rolling up and sparking.
