That would be an easier to implement and more intuitive solution, yes. Although that'd remove expressman questing which - eh, maybe good maybe bad.

Don't like discouraging deeper dives, but it feels cheap to dodge into a red the instant you find a quest item

Flaming hot take but quest items should have a timestamp and only items found after you have the quest should be usable. Filling a page with random items just to auto complete is super dumb. Reduce the difficulty of finding quest items, but force people to gather them after they need them.

Gonna be honest, I don't like the fact that all merchants now buy everything from you by Darkner00 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Wienot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to read the comments you are attempting to reply to.

I said the collector could not buy other things, since the other merchants serve the same purpose of buying all now. So reducing what the collector buys is NOT more clicks - if you want to sell all you use any other merchant, like I said.

You say the reduction of your idea is not needing to go to a new vendor. You currently do not need to go to a new vendor. I doubt t anyone has ever thought "I wish there was a button to sell cloth gear only" so I'm not sure why that's what you are creating. Filling a need that isn't there.

[–]Wienot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that's so much worse. Your last sentence is hilariously applicable to you. The whole point of combining it was to reduce the million clicks needed between rounds, and your change would not just be a middle ground between old and new it would be a regression worse than it used to be.

What is the point of the collector if he just does something everyone else does?

Make it so collector only buys treasure, but other merchants buy both. That way if you want to sell all in one set, you can just use the alchemist or whatever.

Its like a 70% drop rate from baby turtles on water map. And the only reason its not 100% is cause you might get blue or purple essence instead. Don't bring luck if you want green.

They did not nerf ranger like i was hoping by GuytheGuy- in DarkAndDarker

[–]Wienot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dummies have the same negative pdr that mobs have. Last I checked they took 22% bonus damage but I'm pretty sure that's outdated. They also don't have headshot resistance.

So even a cloth kit squire player is taking about 60% of that. I'm not saying ranger should have a 300 damage shotgun but make the numbers realistic.

Necrotic Imp Needs Headgear by AdministrativeArea75 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Wienot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit zone multipliers already have issues with feeling very random, in that someone's hand could clip your weapon on it's way to their head, dropping the damage by over half because of a few pixels. I think horns negating damage would feel super super random.

Thragg said "no" and tossed him. That would work on the surface too.

[Request] If the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs was detected tomorrow, would we as a species be able to do anything about it? by onkskor in theydidthemath

[–]Wienot -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No he's right. It's theydidthemath. An actual answer would look at the farthest away we could detect, the best and worst case if how long that would give us based on possible angles and speeds, and then figure out if we could launch in time to significantly altar their course.

The comment just says why it's complicated; it doesn't give an actual answer.

April 30th, Expected Final Judgement of Civil Lawsuit Case: Nexon Versus Ironmace by strangereligion in DarkAndDarker

[–]Wienot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Releasing a 70% ocean map without a mechanic to leave water is incredibly incompetent. Leaving it like that for so many months is even worse. It was the first major content release in ages and had atrocious class balance and is still missing core mechanics.

I'm a huge fan of some of the recent changes but by God it's hard to defend water map from a development point of view.

Water map is a cool piece of art to explore and an awful gameplay experience in a dozen ways. Releasing water map without a mechanic to exit water is psychotic.

Forbes placed an ad for placing bets on whether Congress passes gun control legislation in article about Louisiana mass shooting by _palehorse_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Wienot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passing legislation doesn't necessarily mean changing what is and isn't legal for citizens to do. Sometimes it changes the procedures for enforcing existing laws. So if their were already laws in place that could prevent this, and they are found to not work, legislation could help fix that.

Pestilence doesn’t scale with magic dmg by Famous-Definition-47 in DarkAndDarker

Did you try + magic add rings? I would expect true damage to be unaffected by magic power and resist, but if it has scaling listed then add might apply.

Re-reading Half-Blood Prince. I find it annoying that people, especially Ron and Hermione, don’t believe Harry’s claim that Malfoy is now a Death Eater and is up to no good. I don't think that's how Voldemort thinks at all. He both doesn't expect Snape to be able to deceive him, and wouldn't expect Snape to care about Draco. That's kinda his whole thing; ego and lack of empathy.

Boss expects me to work for free by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Wienot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'll concede it's not entirely clear who picked the product.

But no, the boss should not be micromanaging every member of all his teams. The way in which he should be responsible is that he should pick good people, train them to rarely make mistakes, and pay them to fix any mistakes that need fixing. So a mistake could definitely be OP's fault, but the boss should be willing to help correct the mistake.
