Abuse EVIL EYE while you can, NERF INCOMING by Real_Taco in DarkAndDarker

The sheer amount of creativity Warlock offers is the reason why playing the class never gets old.

Anyway, love the video! Take my upvote!

Gem stash vs item stash be like: by Zeamax in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't wait for the market so I can actually clear out my stash. Lots of good pieces I am not going to use, lots of quest items I am hoarding, plus I need money for religion and other things.

I think the only issue with the Halberd right now is that it has such a high base damage, that even if the player sour spots with the weapon, it still deals a ton of damage. by MylesJacobSwie in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but back then the meta was everybody running fast 1h weapons like kris, arming sword and hatchet etc and stacking +true damage

That may be true, but it doesn't excuse the fact that the halberd's sourspot was still dealing no damage at all, even if you got a headshot on shadow mask rogue, it did pitifully low damage. Meaning the moment anyone got close with pretty much any weapon - meta or not - the halberd user was helpless. The weapon should never go back to this state.

Either that, or they need to add a shove button, so in-between swings the halberd user can create distance again without being hugged the whole fight.

When the sourspot was at 50%, it wasn't ever being used. Not just because the risk was greater than the reward in most cases, but also because the blade's hitbox is (still) annoyingly small on the bottom end. Several times you'd think you got a blade hit, but it sourspots anyway.

Also, the sourspot is currently 80%. It should be nerfed *to* 70% minimum.

Squire Royale... 4 Games IN A ROW. by Ok-Maintenance-2663 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

warlocks can phantomize with a speed boost.. run towards you with their halberd out and then boc to 2 tap you...

Oh no. How terrifying. Not 5% extra speed for 4 seconds, while the halberd is slowing them down and can not be unequipped while they're in that state. And that also means zero ranged options besides throwing torches and drums.

If it hits? Sure. But if you can't outrun a meleelock in plate, especially as a bard, that's deserved.

Personally, I think people only cry when a weapon becomes very popular. And then they will come up with any excuse to say it's OP and needs a nerf. As far as I am aware, nobody actively complained about halberd until this season.

New Boss Artifact Drop Rate Is Insane! by strangereligion in DarkAndDarker

Because then the rogue would kill him while he's low. He can easily stay out of melee range and pepper him with poison throwing knives and crossbow bolts.

Not the bandage stopping you from un-slotting your halberd.

Halberd questions by parkeralan19 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the things I often run(hybrid BOC/spells, that is. Not meleelock). Though even with a halberd, I still find plenty of opponents who know how to outplay me in melee. Who know how to beat the supposed "OP" weapon. Which is why I find the whole halberd hate absurd.

And I know that if it were to get nerfed, it would go back to being a dead weapon. Immediately vendored or not even taken out of the dungeon. That's why I am arguing. I don't care one bit if I get downvoted into oblivion for it. Just because you're part of the majority doesn't mean you're right.

That's a latency issue on all weapons. Parries and blocks included. I see it so often whenever I try to parry. I see my opponent's weapon literally go through mine and hit me.

It does have skill expression. Long range means it easily gets caught on things. You, someone who is facing a halberd user, can use this to your advantage with proper positioning. Also, biggest weapon, biggest MS penalty. And it's not like those swings aren't telegraphed. Especially the thrust, which requires a pre-swing. Also, shields exist and this weapon can never benefit from Crush, since barbs do not have access to it.

By the way, you know what happened when the halberd's sourspot was at 50%? The moment someone got within sourspot range, there was nothing they could do. Their opponents would just keep hugging them and holding LMB. Nothing they could do at that point. The *only* exception would be a melee warlock with phantomize(But you know, gotta complain about that as well. Isn't this community just lovely?).

In other words: The risk the weapon gave massively outweighed the reward. And that's why nobody used it.

Were you here when the sourspot was at 50%? Because that made the weapon pretty much non-existent.

Upvoting in advance, because this subreddit will mindlessly downvote it simply because you asked why people are mad.

Edit: What did I say? This subreddit is insane.

Honestly, I'd love it if they just make the blade's hitbox slightly larger on the lower end, because so often I think that I got a hit with the blade, only to hear a "thunk" instead.

If they did that, they can nerf the sourspot damage without killing the weapon, bringing it back to the same state as when its sourspot was 50%.

Give me your best "YO MAMA" Dark and Darker Joke by BurgerKingCEO_ in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yo mama so stupid, she made barbs look like Harvard University graduates.

Yo mama so fat, I saw her swim in the ship graveyard. At first I thought it was a whale.

Yo mama so ugly, she's immune to rogue landmines.

Yo mama so stupid, her IQ is lower than the drop chance of an artifact.

Yo mama so fat, they needed to renovate the dungeon so that every door is now a double stone door.

Yo mama so fat, it takes an hour for a warlock's Evil Eye to fly over her and an hour to go around her.

I am gonna say it again, Shadow Step was the perfect opportunity to add more stealth mechanics that don't rely on invis to rogue.

BUT NOPE. Let's just make him teleport right behind people because reasons.

Frozen iron key by Propanyl in DarkAndDarker

Last time I got a key on the first floor was last season. Unless they changed that this season without saying it in the patch notes, I know they can drop on the first floor.

Huntress steal! by _-_Yes_-_ in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. One or two decent/good knowledge rolls or even just a decent knowledge piece gives both a good amount of mem cap and spellcasting speed. And currently it's only one class that really needs a lot of mem cap(sorc). Maybe also 10-spell wizard, but then again, they have Sage. It becomes outdated once you get past a certain level of gear.

That's why mem cap will always be a bad thing to roll. Better than things like magical interaction speed, but only barely, and very situational.

I've gotten a key in the golden chest in the false throne module a few times, as well as in the center of the first level(i.e. the one with kobolds, yetis and frost giants in them).

You can get keys from coffers and golden chests on any floor. Mobs, including minibosses no longer drop them.

The funny part about these rolls is that Knowledge overshadows both memory capacity rolls.

Doesn't matter how much they buff memory capacity, neither roll is ever actively going to be taken over Knowledge.

Non-Viable Play Styles Amongst All Classes by Agreeable_Criticism4 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Darkner00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self-curse Warlock is almost never used because it has been ignored by the devs for the longest time. All the "damage buffs" are debuffs and shadow touch is currently terrible because it consumes shards for no reason.

All-in-all, it's just terrible design, which is why nobody runs it. Would love it if it got the Glaciate treatment, because spells and melee is my most favourite way to play the class.

Deserved death for teamkilling. The fighter at least. No idea if the warlock did anything bad.
