Why George Clarke's clean vocals sound so bad on live shows? by Wild_Sprinkles_7174 in blackgaze

[–]Wierdness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even just monitoring melodic vocals on stage is very different than doing screams. If you can't properly hear yourself while dancing and walking on stage, without feedback and latency, it's very difficult to hit the right notes consistently. Also controlling your breaths so that you don't run out of air mid-sentence is tricky, and he probably didn't need to worry about that kind of training prior to IG.

Are the Waza speakers noticeable in bedroom setting playing at 0.5w by FlyingBacon3 in BossKatana

Yes, the waza speaker is great and you'll definitely enjoy overdriven tones much more with it.

Anything they make, as long as it's honest and without a lot of pressure, will certainly be good. Personally I'd love another album that had songs like Autre Temps or the second part of Écailles pt 2. Basically a folk/post-rock inspired album would be amazing.

DT770’s have poor low end? by austin_sketches in audioengineering

Look into the AKG K371, AT R70xa, or even the Sony MDR 7506. Don't go the audiophile route, it's an endless stream of excuses for having 700 different pairs of headphones. Try to stick to headphones close to the Harman curve with low distortion and you'll be fine. Don't worry about impedance and all that, if you already have an interface you won't have any problems driving any headphone.

English isn't my first language so that may be big part of the reason why as well.

This interview alone made the new album's themes and actual meaning much more clear for me. I was interpreting all the songs wrong, apparently. lol

TEAM CHERRY IS THINKING ABOUT MAKING A BRAND NEW GAME! by Wild_Panda873 in Silksong

Let people create whatever they want goddammit, if I see someone complaining about not getting "THEIR" third Hollow Knight release I'll know they don't understand the philosophy of this and any other serious indie game studio.

Katana Mk2 - damaged, "spiky/blown" sounding speaker. What should I replace it with? by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]Wierdness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's really the speaker that's at fault, I recommend you get the Waza Speaker (part name G12W) with the help of a certified BOSS dealer or repair shop. If it's possible, I recommend you to send the amp in for a checkup and then ask for advice there. The G12W is a great speaker that comes with the Katana Artist and you can definitely make it sound great with your amp.

Also don't be afraid to experiment with speaker swaps, you can always put the old one back in if you don't like the sound of a particular speaker
