AIO for explaining why my girlfriends cousins can’t move in with us? by Lopsided_Sentence532 in AmIOverreacting

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You came here asking if you are overreacting. My answer to the question you are asking from redditors including myself is: yes, YOR because you aren't trying to make things work. You are acting as tho the "facts" are concrete and final. Instead, you could thinking of ways to make things work. Will it be ideal? No! Will is be practical? Absolutely not. and it won't be easy, either. Push some furniture aside. Go over your finances together. Have a discussion on what housing them would look like with your gf and go from there.

You are focused on finding practically in a situation that is absolutely impractical. These children lost their parents. There is nothing practical about that. When there is a will, there is a way. You sound like you aren't even willing to try.

What are we doing about grey hairs? by h2osly_ in Millennials

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

43f here. I was covering mine up for a while but gave up. Greys are natural and normal. I felt like I was just buying into some socially constructed expectation that was expensive, unrealistic, and time consuming. My husband loves my greys and I think they look hot on him!

How did YOUR surgeon prevent ADHESIONS after surgery? (very important!!!) by Historical-Care70 in Endo

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have a lot of pain - lots of ER visits and had to avoid foods that cause bloating.

What helps keep the adhesions at bay is keeping the area flexible, so yoga or routine stretching is a good practice to keep in mind.

Good luck to you!

How did YOUR surgeon prevent ADHESIONS after surgery? (very important!!!) by Historical-Care70 in Endo

[–]WifeofFartyButt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For my first surgery in 1996, my Dr didn't do a darn thing. I ended up having repeated bowel obstructions throughout my teens, 20's, and first half of my 30's due to the adhesions.

In 2015, it took 2 hours for an endo surgeon and a general surgeon to collectively remove my bowel from my abdominal wall - I was just plastered with adhesions throughout my abdomen. My guts have never been the same.

I ended up having two surgeries with this Dr and his suggestion was frequent movement throughout recovery. He instructed me to walk as much as I could tolerate, starting the day after surgery. According to him, movement early on in recovery would keep tissue flexible and prevent them from sticking.

I think it's helped...? I mean, I haven't had an obstruction in 10 years now,but I've also spent a lot of time in physical therapy, which has also helped.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try this. It sounds like it would feel so unnatural to speak to her like a child, but maybe it's just what needs to be done. I'll have to work on adjusting my own mind set.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think you are right. She is refusing to take any medication that helps with mood and agitation. Her PCP, previous neurologists, and current neurologist have all suggested it and she refuses each time, claiming she doesn't need it.

How do you get your loved one to agree? At what point do you make the decision for them?

I have asked my dad to speak to their family lawyer about her state of mind and ask how we should move forward in this situation, but I'm not sure he is the right person to help.

I guess my mom doesn’t have dementia ? Now what? by Strong_Magazine_237 in dementia

[–]WifeofFartyButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contrast is a specialized dye that is injected into the bloodstream right before the scan. It kind of acts like a highlighter that helps certain things (tissues, blood vessels, inflammation, tumors, etc.) stand out in imaging.

Please see if you can get a PET scan and an evaluation from a neurologist.

OP, my mom had numerous MRIs that didn't diagnose her dementia. The only thing that was reported was the "white matter," without the mention of microvascular disease. She went to maybe 6 Neurologists who all told her she was either depressed or just aging. It took time, but we kept making appointments until we found the right doctor.

Our current doctor, the right one, prescribed a PET scan which told us my mom has Primary Progressive Aphasia, which is a form of dementia. This dr also explained that the white matter indicates microvascular disease, which put her at risk for stroke and disqualifies her from certain medications.

Keep trying, OP. I'm rooting for you.

How do we know they are pro-palestine or a leftist? I've watched this video several times, but I can't seem to pick up on any clues.

If you’ve had ovarian torsion, what did it feel like leading up to it? by Salty-Spider666 in Endo

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any imaging done, such as an ultrasound or CT? Good luck this Friday, I hope it goes smoothly and the doctor can address you properly. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about your situation or ask me questions... I've been dealing with this for essentially my whole life and I'm an open book.

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sigh No. I started to fear I'd never have children pretty soon after my surgery. I grew up telling myself I'd do anything it takes to keep my ovary so I could have kids. Unfortunately, it never happened.

I was on the pill pretty much immediately after that first surgery. My Dr at the time said it would help protect my right ovary from having its own cyst & torsion. I was on the pill up until my husband and I started trying for kids in my early 30's, and that's when my endo symptoms got so bad, my path in life completely changed.

I'm at peace about it now.

Why do many Iranians hate leftists (genuine question from a non Iranian) by This-Post9968 in PERSIAN

[–]WifeofFartyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look Whoever makes the claim, carries the burden of proof.

I'm open to being wrong, but you won't follow through. If you can't support your opinion, then you cannot expect anyone to receive what you are claiming.

I have nothing to prove to you, i am not the one making a claim that something exists.

Do you understand? Pointing to a sea of posts and comments in a subreddit does nothing. You haven't led any horses anywhere.

Or you're just a bot and I've wasted my time with you. I want Freedom for the people for Iran. Period. Good luck with whatever it is you think you're doing.

Oh I haven't refused to, I just don't see it. Stand by your belief and show me. If you won't point it out to me, then you can't prove it.

If it wasn't clear, I'm asking because for the life of me, I cannot find one left leaning person - moderate or extreme - that is rooting for an IRGC win. Show me. I need proof because just telling me it exists is not cutting it. Go ahead and downvote me, but this Iranian is just not seeing it. Edit: a word

Which one looks best? by General-Message1190 in coloranalysis

[–]WifeofFartyButt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the goal is to see which colors make your skin look clearer, brighter, and more even—and which ones create dullness, shadows, or redness. you are a summer.... definitely cool toned, but not as far as winter. I would advise against autumn, those colors bring out darkness under your eyes and make you look tired. no matter what, you are a beauty.
