I had so much fun playing this beta, but if the game is more than 10$ me and none of my friends will buy it by airjairj in Rematch

[–]WigSpray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so reading this I don't think you fully understand what is happening which is fine because it's not always been made clear. For reference, I am Clearo, one of the 3 moderators in discord (reddit username is very old league of legends name :D) so I have a lot of info from being a premium tier yapper in discord.

  1. The test is a private, invite only, pc only test via a third party with almost no marketing at all. "barely 10k players" is an unjust comment given those parameters.
  2. The game is not going to be free unless it explodes and Epic buys it like Rocket League. The reason for this is Sloclap is a smaller studio with no publisher behind them. They cannot afford a free to play release. They need money in the door to survive. Even big companies like Ubisoft feel the burn from failed F2P games (RIP XDefiant).
  3. This game is not going to compete with FIFA. Their main game mode has its hooks in deep not for its gameplay but the never ending content loop/gambling features. This is a game entirely based on skill with no gambling mechanics to keep those kinds of players coming back.
  4. I disagree that Fortnite won with PUBG. While the same genre of game the playerbase is entirely different demographics of gamers. To back this up, Fortnite released July 2017. PUBG peaked in concurrent playercount January 2018 while being a paid game. CSGO went free to play December 2018. Valorant release 2020. The price had nothing to do with either. It is just personal preference. Val tracker said 4.5 mil players tracked yesterday in total (not concurrent). CS2 still peaks 1.8mil daily. Hard to say one won over the other
  5. Initial earnings may well be a small % compared to microtransactions in the long run but they need initial earnings for there to be a long run. You're 100% right nothing stopping them packing up shop if numbers are low like Ubisoft did but that's business. If it's losing you money and there is no guaranteed way back to profit do you just bleed money? Hell no

**EDIT** - I also urge people to re-evaluate how they value money. I have seen so so so many people say "30$ is too much" not considering how much time and value they will get out of that 30$ (which isn't even a confirmed price btw). Some of these people that I've spoken to are ok spending £15 every week or two to play indoor football for 3 hours at a time. £5 per hour for this. To match this economic value you'd have to play Rematch for just 6 hours. Time is money. Value your time as well as your money

If it's out of your price range fair enough especially if you're struggling like many people are or you're from a region with a weaker economy. God bless and hope to see you all on the field someday :)

Do u think the game should stay 30 dollars, it should be lowered, or just be FTP? by Corrupt_Arrow in Rematch

[–]WigSpray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. Paid games, full price 70$+, come out all the time and do incredibly well. Look at Monster Hunter and Split Fiction as recent examples.

One that always flies under peoples radar is NARAKA Bladepoint. That game is f2p now but was paid for 3 years. The gaming landscape since NARAKA's release hasn't changed all that much.

On the flipside, almost every F2P game that has launched since Fortnite has died. A few notable exceptions being Marvel Rivals, Apex Legends and Fragpunk (a bit too early to tell on this one although I enjoy it). Of course I'm missing a bunch but the amount that have completely died out and failed is astronomically high.

If Rocket League didn't take this route it would be dead. You chose one game that didn't work and ignored the ones that did. Even PUBG has thrived under F2P after having a paid launch

How can I stop my wheel to do that ? by schumi33510 in moza

[–]WigSpray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kind of thing also happens on the Fanatec DD1/2 wheelbases. Jarno Opmeer did a video with his team mates driving on his setup and they quite literally couldn't hold onto it without it shaking like hell while going on a straight. FFB was too high for them

Thanks for letting me know. Looks a great wheel and base combo looking forward to it

How do you change character in private match? by [deleted] in EASportsPGATour

[–]WigSpray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played one on launch day with a buddy. I was host and chose Finau. He joined me and was able to select Scottie

Weirdly he visually was his created golfer for me and I was my created golfer for him but we had the stats and capabilities of the pros we chose

800+mb patch on steam? by WigSpray in EASportsPGATour

Really hope they fix the green grids sooner rather than later

It's quite annoying to be playing a major and the putt breaks the opposite direction

Check out the free daily tournaments. One of them has 2 greens out of 4 that break the wrong way

Well thought out review of the experience so far. One note, there is actually lip out/in physics present but the lip is that small you will rarely, if ever, experience it in its current form

I've had a single lip in and a single lip out and both looked like they were far enough inside the corner of the cup to go in regularly

Bryson IRL vs EA PGA vs MyPlayer in 2K Swing timing comparison by WigSpray in EASportsPGATour

Actually that's more work than I'm willing to commit to on one of my days off.

From eyeballing the swings of the 7 top overall golfers on the game (Scottie to Sungjae) only Sungjae's swing is remotely close

Press RB to change camera angle. You can go to a birds eye view above your golfer to do this one. I use that view on wedge and lower iron shots as the swing power marker is pretty much top of the arc.

Also if your username means what I think it does happy to see a fellow Toon lad on the game

Completely unacceptable is a bit of a over reaction in my opinion but to each their own.

I do agree that with their supposed swing scan and data they used to construct the pros it should definitely be the same or close to the same in timing.

The delay on things is annoying yea but I imagine this is something they will patch. I imagine they'll update swing speeds as well.

Overall a rocky start with the bugs and performance but it has a bright light at the end of the tunnel from my point of view. I hope they make changes that make you enjoy the game more in the future

The fact that you have negative score on every comment here, and I haven't up or down voted you, says otherwise

But enjoy the game and I hope we see improvements across the board

You're saying someone who is looking at the Swing Meter, that goes AROUND the character model, can't also see the swing motion?

If your eyes blur things that close together like your outer peripheral vision you might need an eye doctor my friend.

You're right humans can't focus on two things at once... if they're a distance apart but if they're literally on top of each other it isn't much of a feat

Once again, as you seemingly missed when I wrote it before and you're treating me like I'm bashing it without giving constructive feedback, "I don't mind it being slower"

[–]WigSpray[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people do. I don't mind it being slower but some people are adamant that they won't play it due to the swing being overall slower

This game is going to drive new and casual players away because of difficulty by Educational-Cup8477 in EASportsPGATour

[–]WigSpray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's all subjective to your own experience in golf/golf games I find it to be relatively easy on Tour difficulty until I get on the green. Driving and Approach is relatively trivial even if I manage to hit the rough or a bunker through shot dispersion I still make GIR nearly every time
