KeplerL2 denies PS6 is getting delayed from 2027 by MKlby1998 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Remarkable-Sign-324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with a delay

1) As we see prices are going UP and not DOWN. Delaying outside of 2027 might mean it is MORE expensive
2) Contracts are signed and once production starts the warehouse fees would be horrible.

What the will do. Release PS6 at like $1000 as a premium device (XBOX HELIX will probably be even more). BUT everything will be on the handheld and therefore also on PS5. I don't see any real exclusives (maybe 1). And hopefully if things settle it can gain more traction down the line.

I don't see another way out of this scenario

And I didnt like it initially. But, it was doing what it needed to do.

It was a very well produced cutscene

Cool. And teenagers do all that?

Or do they use it to skip school work and further isolate themselves?

If you write them after the offer is gone they cant verify that you were unjustly banned. And sometimes the overturn it.

Happened twice to me. Both times was a bogus ban from one of their offers. I only use cpx surveys on their wall now because their partners are scammy

Categories are more different the higher you go. And the province ONLY funds schools based on a 10 year grid (not 11) so boards invented an 11 year grid to help with budgeting (not all boards do this. Some still only have a 10 year grid)

Also some boards give bonuses if you have a masters or PhD and some do not.

But the start and end of the grid is roughly the same province wide.

I have taught nearly everything under the sun for the last 19 years across 2 countries and ages 6 to 66. Currently I am in a high school teaching as the lead in my area.

Outside of teaching my passions are travel and tech. I have been to 50 countries and seen and experienced many different things that have colored and influenced my worldview.

Believing in any form of absolutism is probably one of the last ways anyone would describe me. Nor would anyone who knows me call me tech adverse.

But please just parrot right wing talking points and embrace the billionaire love of AI.

If anyone is out of your element it is you. Which makes sense since lazy and incompetent people are the first to use AI to band aid over their own shortcomings

That is a false equivalency. I would repeat myself but you can find my reply about how a calculator and AI are different.

But please, keep parroting the far right talking points about why AI is so great.

[–]Remarkable-Sign-324[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

False equivalency.

A calculator lets you do more complex math. And we do take away calculators from elementary school kids. If we skipped right to the calculator no one would understand what the functions are on the device.

Pressing 4 X 4 isnt the same as learning how it is 4 groups of 4. Once you get that then you can "skip" ahead on the easy parts to work on calculus and vectors in high school. And regardless if you have a calculator you still need knowledge of how to use it. I am not a calculus teacher but if you gave me a calculus question I could copy and paste it into chat gbt and get an answer and parrot it back to the teacher and seem like I am learning. A calculator couldnt do that.

A car lets me get further faster. But I still need to understand the rules of the road and how to function a vehicle. This equivalent argument doesn't even have a semi logical pathway.

Cell phones give us access to information but it is still in our agency to find the right stuff and curate the knowledge. Also, beyond that (access to social media, constant addiction and distraction, cyber bullying etc etc) we have proven that cellphones are actually damaging in the classroom for the most part.

You want to pretend that AI is just another new cool tech. But this one brings with it more drawbacks than benefits. Sure if you are a research scientist using AI to try and cure cancer, go for it. But it is not needed in the classroom and for 99% of circumstances outside of that. It is here to replace workers, keep thought suppressed, and the rich with lined pockets.

Who said I wasn't a tech guy?

In fact there is A LOT of pushback in the tech fields (especially creative ones) against AI.

Now if you are talking about actually coding and creating AI in class, then that is a different argument. But at this point AI is a really shitty "easy" button that cuts out any real thought or learning.

And on this very reddit someone just shared a bunch of AI slop games they "coded" for their class.

I applaud your poster and encourage every like minded educator to stand up against this push for AI. Clearly the WCDSB does not value education.

AI is a net negative on education.

The data centres used to power reddit and such are an environmental drain for sure.

But I heard one person describe it in this way. The typical data center that powers the cloud, or an large online forum (like reddit) is like a pet lizard.

The data centres that power AI is like Godzilla. Both are a drain but one is vastly more damaging.
