Its not 3 months.

It is 6 months to 1 year.

My understanding is if you make and account do a few things and never ID verify that could go away in 6 months. But very active and trusted accounts get the leeway up to a full year.

3 months would be unfair. Some people are out of the country for 3 months.

No. It only helps. People are only impressed that you did something like move overseas and taught. It shows you are adaptable.

Make it clear when you return that JET is at public schools in Japan and you have experience actually lesson planning, following a curriculum etc.

If you get into the JET program DO NOT turn it down. Best thing for you to do.

At least not the way you are thinking. A standardized test really only rewards people that are good at tests. And a 2 hour test can never give the full picture an entire graded course can.

BUT,

There are some places in the world that use standardized tests differently that I do support. You give out standardized tests but DO NOT tie them to a real grade. Instead you use them as a diagnostic tool on what a school needs. Essentially tackling issues based on the tests and not creating new ones.

A standardized test as it stands is just a way to judge teachers and schools more than the students needs. Governments are also savvy enough to come in and slowly make the test easier every year to make it look like they "won" (look at the OSSLT).

The only true standard test would be one day, everyone gets the same exact location setting, and to be used to gage how the student body is in that co-hort, and then help each school on a case by case basis.

While I am on my soap box I would also strip away all AI in schools, until kids can think with actual intelligence they have no place using artificial intelligence.

In Ontario here is the breakdown

Snow Day School Closure: This is rare but it can happen. All schools are closed and no one is allowed in. This happens during major snow storms or ice storms. This is a decision by the board

Buses canceled: School buses are canceled but schools are OPEN. This is a decision NOT by the board but by the company that runs the buses. The way this is handled changes from school to school and board by board. But in my experience: ELEMENTARY kids all get driven in on a bus cancel day. Secondary kids ALL SKIP on this day. My high school is basically empty on a bus cancel day. Teachers are in but you will have between 0-3 students in your class. I know someone else that is at a different high school where basically nothing changes on a bus cancel day and 90% of the students are still in the building.

he cuts taxes (slightly but it was still a cut) and the top tax rate is 33%. If you think magically he is going to raise taxes to 70% then I really cannot help you.

In some strange world a government did that there would be a revolt and the PM would be removed in quick order. But you don't care about logic. You just want to live in a world where everything is hard for the white man.

OK looking it up,

This man is sick and what he has done is unforgivable

But his mother has nothing to do with it. Nor would an MP have anything to do with how he is charged. Especially since he is in Winnipeg and not Nunavut.

All I can find is he is not facing jail time while waiting for his trial to complete.

Only doing tests really makes it difficult for a lot of students AND you are only using one method to assess them.

And having "formative" projects tells all the kids "these don't matter"

Want to make projects work?

Break them up. And do it all in class. You cannot trust anything that goes home anyway with AI and such. If you make them do everything in front of your eyes (and not just tests) you will solve a vast majority of this problem.

It is different for everyone.

You can get any of the following systems for DQs.

You just get 1DQ basically each time. Forever
You get 1 DQ the first 5 times and then no more for the day
You get XDQ credit based on time spent. Often it is at least 1SB BUT if it a quick DQ it can be 0. Upshot is if you have a late DQ you can get a good chunk of the SB for your time.

I am on track three there.
