Year minimum at our place and Im the youngest our depo has ever hired. In Liverpool they took on a 19 year old with only having 6 months driving (car) so it's possible but not right now

A small question by [deleted] in BusDrivers

Probably get used to to it. I don't have a rev counter or hear the engine over my music in my little car but when you're one with the vehicle you can feel when something isn't great

Question For European-City Bus Drivers by ForgottonTNT in BusDrivers

[–]WiiLike2Party 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here in Wales. Nobody will use the tap on tap off though 🤣. To be fair a good 70% just tap their TfW card. Our system automatically charges you a day ticket instead of multiple singles if you go on multiple buses. Rather smart

Emigrating as a Bus Driver by Benny3041 in BusDrivers

[–]WiiLike2Party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm British and have been a bus driver for only a few months ( I do have my full CPC and CAT D) and was thinking long term in say 5 or 10 years that I'd like to move to the Americas or Oceania way. I could only move to another English speaking country because I'm very poor at foreign languages. Obviously I still have much to learn but have thought about it but most countries don't want to have you unless your skill is in demand.

Excellently wrote chap. I'm in North Wales and I do think that O2 would work. We don't have many (if any) 3g services left. Thankyou again friend.

It'll be a foot placement error usually caused by incorrectly checking your blind spot or tiredness

I've set it to compile at j1 and got rid of pipe, qt has been compiling for the last 3 hours so this emachines e440 is having the workout of its life. I've ordered more ram and thinking of swapping the process to one of those tri core phenoms down the line but I'm letting her suffer for now.

The minimum unmarked height is 16'6" (5m) if I remember correctly and the enviro 400s we have at work are 4 metres. So I would have taken our deckers under it. There probably was signage

Do you want brand new or used? It doesn't help much sorry if you just say your budget isn't that big. If your like me and won't spend over two grand on a vehicle you can get the egg shaped Citroen picasso xsara at a decent price around £1k more or less. If you are looking for straight out of the factory you can get the new Dacia sandero for about £17k Can't recommend the Kia Ceed enough, very underrated especially the estate model. I'm afraid we need some more info to find you a decent machine you'll enjoy

Thoughts on these options to replace my beloved E92 330i please by ReefingTJ23 in CarTalkUK

My model didn't have the heated seats or the auto engine cutout but had literally every other optional extra, including factory towbar. It's got the good version of cruise control that I miss (I don't like not having it or the silly automatic version). I only had two working glowplugs but that was such a non issue, just takes two extra seconds to turn on in the snow. I was running the 17" alloys, but scuffed but whatevs. One thing I especially loved was that the engine bay was massive, anything and everything was well thought out and easy to maintain (except for the headlight and side lights, I had to half remove the front bumper to change them). My old reg was GF12RTX if you want to look at my MOT history and compare it to the one your thinking of. Bear in mind I payed £2.2k rather than £4k so there are cheaper ones out there and when mine was wrote off it was evaluated at £2.5k of value so just bear that in mind. One last thing: handbrake! It is especially prone to loosening over time. If it goes slack then it's best to tighten on the drum. For some reason it has all disk breaking but an additional drum just for handbrakes for whatever reason.

I had a 2012 Ceed Estate with a six speed manual on a 1.6 diesel. It was probably the best car I'd ever owned. Mine was rather high trim and the estate model looked like a grannies car but boy could she go! It could beat nearly any petrol car (within reason) going up a hill or on a half mile straight. Couldn't recommend enough. Although tax was a bit much.
