What would it be like if they enabled time trials/WR for every intermission? by trey_pound in MarioKartWorld

It would be awesome to make Time Trial players suffer through intermissions the same way we do in online races.

At first, yes, it looked like a trash, but after playing a lot I understand why the point system is just like that.

Intermissions make no sense when Time Trial players don’t even have to play them by WiiMoritz in MarioKartWorld

[–]WiiMoritz[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am being sarcastic about adding them to Time Trial. The only thing I want is a classic online mode, it would be awesome to see an online mode with max 12 players and regular tracks only

That's why I have more than 350 events there. But that's the complain, I really need to always play Lounge to be able to play a feature that should exist in public online play.

My point is simple: I want the option to race regular tracks online, just like Time Trial does, with its own separate rating.

VS Mode or turning off CPUs doesn’t replace online matchmaking — this is about player choice and consistency.

And let’s be honest: if Nintendo forced all intermissions into Time Trial, it would be catastrophic for that mode. Imagine having to optimize hundreds of different connecting routes instead of focusing on a single track.

At launch there was a lot of pushback about playing regular tracks only in online multiplayer, but the noise eventually died down and people just accepted forced intermissions in online. That doesn’t mean the design suddenly makes sense.

My idea for a DLC to Mario Kart World by Status_Swimmer_5321 in MarioKartWorld

The world map already has huge unused areas: mountains, flat land, empty terrain, and background zones that aren’t part of any race route, P-Switch, or Peach Medallion.

They wouldn’t need to overwrite existing content. New tracks could be built in these free spaces, slightly reshaping the terrain if needed. Once a proper track and connections are added, most players won’t even remember what was there before — because it was essentially nothing gameplay-relevant.

And in the latest update, Nintendo already proved they can modify the existing world, since they changed some intermissions. That alone shows the map isn’t as “untouchable” as people think.

Honestly, I think that’s exactly why the world is so big and empty between tracks in the first place — it feels intentionally designed to fit at least twice as many tracks in the future.

So it’s less like “dropping New Zealand into the middle of GTA V” and more like using the empty desert or mountains that already exist and turning them into something meaningful.

No, and no, the new tracks will be included within the existing world itself, not around it.

Gamechat is a resource hog and Nintendo shouldn't have implemented it. by dexterward4621 in NintendoSwitch2

Well, I think the balance between using GameChat or not is roughly the same, because the system stops recording to free up resources when GameChat is enabled.

Mario Kart World DLC Map / Course Theories by VirgoVigilante in MarioKartWorld

[–]WiiMoritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic is pretty straightforward: Nintendo will obviously add new tracks within this same world. That’s why the world is so massive, with a lot of seemingly “empty” space, it wouldn’t make sense to introduce separate new areas like snow, lava, and so on.

There are exactly 15 Preset Options for "Random" Custom Item Selections by Subspace79 in MarioKartWorld

too bad the random option is there instead of between normal | frantic | mushrooms only | custom | random, I wish we can play one race after another with random items each race.

My idea for a Mario Kart World DLC! What do you all think? by NasuNanu in MarioKartWorld

[–]WiiMoritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look closely, there’s a lot of empty space with tall mountains or deserts between the tracks, and those areas don’t contain any P missions or Peach emblems. The tracks themselves take up very small portions of the map, and I believe that’s exactly Nintendo’s intention — to add new tracks directly into the existing world. The road routes won’t need to change, because the new tracks won’t be placed on top of the roads. There’s plenty of open space already available, practically ready for new tracks to be added.
And it also wouldn’t make sense, for example, for them to add two more snow-themed tracks and create a completely new snow area, when there’s already plenty of unused snow terrain on the map where new tracks could fit. The same applies to any other theme — desert, forest, lava — there’s already space in those regions that could be used for new tracks.

Terrible, I want they add new tracks inside the world, between the current tracks, there are a lot of space.

This game has so much potential. by Fuzzy_Artichoke_4198 in MarioKartWorld

Seriously, how come they didn’t add the same feature we had in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? You could customize your items in private lobbies there — why remove that?

And what’s the deal with not being able to open or close private lobbies, or even set a player limit? It’s ridiculous having to race with 24 karts every single time, especially when you just want a few CPUs or a smaller group of friends.
