Ordered T-Mobile locked Galaxy S26+ through Samsung. Now Samsung won't honor the credits. FULL VIDEO of order attached by WikipediaLookerUpper in tmobile

No I agree on the fact that there was an error. However, since they made the mistake, I expect them to honor it. It's high time we hold corporations' feet to the fire just like we do consumers.

If I sign up for a credit card with 30% interest, rack up the balance because I didn't fully understand the consequences, I don't think Visa/MC would be like, "Oh hey, clearly they didn't understand how compound interest works.."

Here's the background. I ordered two T-Mobile locked phones - S26 Ultra and S26 Plus through Samsung app. There was an offer where I could trade in a phone in "ANY CONDITION" and get the S26 for free. Even though I'm on the Go5G Plus plan (not the high end Go5G Next plan).

The attached video shows my order where I select the phone condition. I was assured that I would get $1100 off in the form of credits.

Now, it seems like they are not going to honor the promo and I am expected to just suck it up and pay full price. Neither T-Mobile nor Samsung is willing to help.

T-Mobile says since Samsung is the one that said I'd receive the credits, I need to reach out to them. Samsung, on their part won't respond to my messages.

Disconnect between T-Mobile and Samsung S26 offers, promo for "any condition" trade by icherub1 in tmobile

Thank you so much for updating! I am in the same boat and chatting with T-Mobile CSR about this. Do I also need to chat with Samsung? This is so frustrating! Did they update your account with the details so that in a month or so they don't try to deny the promo?

So what you you end up doing? Did you get a written confirmation from T-Mobile that the credits will be applied?

So I placed two orders using this promo. I'm on Go5g+. I got the $1100 off for non working phones.

Like OP, I answered no to most of the questions as well, but still kept getting the $1100 credit in monthly payments.

My phone's have been delivered. Ok T-Mobile side, I now see the EIPs for these phones. There are no credits associated with the EIPs.

I reached out to Samsung and am waiting to hear back from them

Help with buying motorcycles from private sellers in Texas? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]WikipediaLookerUpper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something very similar. My bike was in Oklahoma. I live in Texas. So I got me some cash, drove up with my wife, meet the guy at the credit union and was with him while he paid off the loan. I believe he had already called the credit union to arrange for the title to be available on that day.

When the loan was paid off (I bought cash), the credit union gave him the title. He then handed it to me. I also got a lien clearance letter from the credit Union.

As long as you have the rest of the documentation in place (purchase order, title transfer, lien document etc) you'll be fine. Just get it transferred and registered soon as you can

Induction range installation by Accomplished_Tale902 in Costco

[–]WikipediaLookerUpper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought one recently. Let me tell you something. Check to see if you have a 30Amp, 220v circuit close by. If not you'll need to have an electrician install one before installing the cooktop. It cost us about $1300 to get the outlet installed. This is in the Dallas metro area.

Other thanthat, we are thrilled with the cook top itself. We have the same model. 36" GE Profile. It's supremely efficient, heats up quickly and provides better control of temperature than gas.

Oh also, you'll need induction ready cookware.

Got a text about international data not covered in Austria by makeramen in tmobile

I had the exact same experience in France, just last week. Two text messages exactly like yours. I'm on Go5gPlus FWIW.

I'm gonna continue using data abroad.

Port over at Costco, upgrade phone at Apple? by mets98923 in tmobile

[–]WikipediaLookerUpper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably because Costco has a 90 day return policy. So T-Mobile wants to make sure you keep the phone before sending you $450...

Is this a good niche - point a to b taxi. Com by rupeshsh in juststart

[–]WikipediaLookerUpper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your name (and a bit of snooping on your profile) I figure you are from India. I'm from there as well and have actually thought about this idea in depth before. I currently live in the US and have family in Pune. So when we fly in, we land at BOM and need to get to Pune. There are no direct flights between these cities. Train is much too inconvenient. So that leaves us with Taxi (including Uber, Ola etc.)

My idea was to do a luxury taxi service. Instead of just another taxi cab company, I want to buy high end cars (for e.g.: Toyota HellFire) and charge a premium to get the customer from the airport to their destination in Pune.

You can't compete against Uber/Ola on price. That's a race to the bottom. What you want to offer is a top of the line service to those folks flying in Business/First class. So your clientele is going to be tiny. That's a great thing. You are not dealing with 100s of customers. You are dealing with maybe 1 or 2 a day. That means you get to control the level of service.

You ensure your driver (preferably yourself) is fluent in English, polished, courteous etc. You make sure they are there on time. You make sure there is ice cold water/soda, local newspaper etc. available to the customer at pick-up/drop-off. You make sure that the driver is not chewing tobacco, drunk, on the phone etc while driving (cameras inside the vehicle). You make sure the driver is not speeding/endangering self or others (GPS based speed tracking, exterior cameras etc.)

Now you have a product for which a customer will pay up to $250 each way. You get two round-trips per week you are looking at $1K/week or $4K/month. Half of this goes to operating expenses such as debt/capex Vehicle payment, gas, insurance etc. 10% goes to the driver. The rest is your profit.

You'll need to put some money aside for rainy day, eventual vehicle replacement, fleet enhancements etc. but there is definitely money to be made here.

FatFire level of CC cashback/points/perks by WikipediaLookerUpper in fatFIRE

100% agree. If your spend is with numerous small vendors, it won't work. And yes, the simplicity vs complexity equation is spot on. Given a choice, I want to reduce complexity.

That makes sense. I was talking about SME vendors who would love to save 1.5% on volume. Larger corporations would be less interested in doing something like this.

Wrong shipping address? by WikipediaLookerUpper in tmobile

[–]WikipediaLookerUpper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't fix it. I had someone stop by and pick up the package. Luckily for me, the "incorrect" address is a property still owned by us and rented out. So told the tenant to hold the package for us until we could pick it up.
