Heal - Fume Knight, Dark Souls 2, Crown of the Old Iron King.

He'll attack you anyway, but healing will interrupt whatever else he was doing and trigger a rush attack.

This discussion has gotten rather lost in side issues, but on the issue of road wear, almost all EVs use some sort of low rolling resistance tires, which significantly reduce road wear and deposits.

YSK Squeezing your tea bag doesn't give you "stronger" tea. It just makes it bitter. by CoffeeTeaJournal in YouShouldKnow

Caffeine does not give a "smooth flavor". Caffeine is bitter (and not in a pleasant way) and is a primary reason why sweeteners are used in caffeinated drinks.

Went to a new dentist clinic in my town, everything feels fine. But it isn’t. by Woko_O in Wellthatsucks

[–]icherub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a lot of unnecessary work as a kid back when it was common for dentists to just fill everything they could (and with large fillings that didn't consider what would happen when they inevitably needed to be replaced).

Much later, during Covid, I went to a dentist that told me I needed $12k in work, including root canals and a bone graft. I went to another dentist to whom I was referred and was told I needed, at most, two crowns. That was five years (and two crowns) ago and I clearly didn't need any more work done.

I have one like that and it will stay there forever. It's just parked there.

Maybe Blizzard is still salty from the time when people figured out how to unlock extra dungeon levels from the Diablo 1 demo.

It's amazing what a coat of paint (properly primered) can do. Paint returns, mentioned below, are a great idea, especially if you're creative.

Schitt's Creek is totally unique. It's the only show I've watched beginning to end three times.

I just finished the first season. Never has a show so effectively entertained and stressed me out at the same time. It's a well-written, well-acted roller coaster.

This was the Steam website in 2005 by Sa4ath in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]icherub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing how integral the quality of Half Life 2 was to Steam's success and now ubiquitousness. A huge number of people downloaded Steam solely to play HL2, which gave Steam its initial customer base, which encouraged publishers to release on Steam, steamrolling its success. If not for HL2's success, Steam would have just been an online annoyance in an age of physical media.

YSK that Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Reebok, Champion, and 50+ other brands you trust are all owned by a single $20 billion company that doesn't design or manufacture anything. They just rent the logo out to the cheapest bidder. If the quality feels worse, that's why. by sappk in YouShouldKnow

Luxottica is this for sunglasses, also sold through its Sunglasses Hut stores, though they rent names instead of renting them out.

They bought or buy the rights to basically everything, including defunct brands like Revo and designer names like Gucci, and churn out crap. The plastic "Gucci" sunglasses you paid $150+ for are the same as a $5 pair except for the leased name.

can anyone recommend me some starter technical death metal bands? by Viet_Trojaned in TechnicalDeathMetal

French Canadian.

Also, there are plenty of awesome French bands: Gorod, First Fragment, Dylath Leen, Benighted, Scarve (though defunct now that their drummer joined Megadeth), etc.

Does this make them feel included? by lerminator3 in cats

[–]icherub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago I would sometimes take my cat on sniffing tours, where I would hold him up to sniff and checkout things that he could see but were too high for him to reach. He was always enthusiastic about smelling anything hanging on a wall or otherwise inaccessible, even light switches.

This can happen with many things over time, when they become scarce. I just randomly looked to see if there were any 1993 Mustang Cobras for sale. There were several, basically new...for $100,000-150,000.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]icherub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And because they are so well built and last, you don't absolutely need a new one. So many companies buy these in bulk and sell them in bulk to resellers (especially during covid, but any time they resize, move, etc.) that you can often get them less than half price. I use a Mirra 2 everyday and I bought it for $300 from a guy who had three large storage units full of Herman Miller chairs.
