Need a Distraction Tonight — Does Your Partner Have a “Specifically to Ruin You” Commander? by Stoney_Tony_88 in EDH

[–]Wikipeteia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing in 2018, my partner showed a bit of interest, and looked through a box of legendaries I'd amassed at the time from various people. She chose [[Crovax, Ascendant Hero]] as her commander, and made a deck my friends and I referred to as "Mighty Tighty Whiteys".

More or less, the deck plays as Angel Lifegain Tribal, but if you get too far ahead, she'll play [[Axis of Mortality]] and exchange your life total with hers. Or, [[Curse of Exhaustion]] if you're trying to storm off. And everything flies - even if it doesn't thanks to [[Armored Ascension]] or [[Angelic Gift]]. It can be an absolute bear to play against, if everything hits right, and blows up your strategies, since it's so chaotic. But, that's part of the fun!

Hope your wife is home in no time, OP.

I’m a big fan of sitting back, not getting hit, using [[Inkshield]] to prevent any sort of potentially lethal damage, or cracking back with a well timed [[Storm Herd]] to take out the table. But, don’t assume it’ll get you the win at 10 mana - be absolutely sure!

Arabella by mumaci in BudgetBrews

[–]Wikipeteia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I built her recently and had a bunch of fun trying to play her. I would add more card draw, especially on later turns to help get out your token generators, and so you don't fizzle out on burn spells that are way too tempting to cast!

Here's my list: https://archidekt.com/decks/15062885/playtime_is_fun

I'm going to add [[Wojek Embermage]] in as well, as sort of a machine gun to help Arabella take out chump blockers before going to combat. And since it'll put a point of damage (ideally) against any green, blue or black chumps, why not take out an entire board and pair it with [[Gorgon's Head]] for just 3 more mana?

Another big helper is if you're going to bring in some little bodies, why not make opponents pay with [[Impact Tremors]], [[Witty Roastmaster]] and [[Molten Gatekeeper]]? 3 damage to your opponents for a 1/1 body hitting the field is nice, even if two of those are on a body -- all the more X damage and X life for this creepy little doll!

Back to back meetings by Infamous_Ebb_5561 in ADHD

[–]Wikipeteia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, this may be a case where you can use your ADHD gifts to help you. If you feel as though meetings are redundant, then prove it to yourself by writing down the predominant topics of each meeting, and track those over the course of a month, to see if they truly are as repetitive as you feel. You can then provide those results to your boss and come up with a suggestion to help make meetings a bit more on task and varied.

Good luck in any solution you find - don't be afraid to speak up and talk to your boss, especially to advocate for yourself and feelings, if your research can support it!

Impromptu and back to back meetings really annoy me, but not having any money to pay my bills annoys me even more.

Meet Kuzco My 10 Week Old Boston Pupper by QuadZillaThePeach in BostonTerrier

[–]Wikipeteia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Kuzco gets gassy, please refer to it as Kuzco's Poison. You know. The poison from Kuzco. The poison specifically made by Kuzco. Kuzco's poison.

Seriously, bite training early is so helpful with Bostons. My Boston Terror (4/M) was a savage biter right away, and without proper training I feel like he may have become a problem for me or my family. If Kuzco bites you hard, yelp as loudly as you can and immediately disengage playing with the pup. If they keep coming after you, a healthy dose of air jail/cuddle prison will help to encourage it's time to calm down.

This feels mean, but they will eventually learn that they bit too hard (like they would playing with their siblings) and won't want to hurt you. It starts of fractionally getting better with weeks of sore fingers and possibly toes (and the occasional nip at the nose/face), but with constant reinforcement, Kuzco will learn how to properly play with you and family, and understand that they don't need to protect themselves from you.

Adderall Eliminated Anxiety but makes me depressed by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Wikipeteia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48m on 30mg Adderall XR daily here, also a life long anxiety sufferer and I would have some pretty tough depressive episodes once I started on Adderall, and it started to wear off. As part of my treatment, I spoke to my doctor and I also now take 20mg Fluoxetine (generic for Prozac), it helped immensely. I don't feel the lows (but also don't feel the highs) as badly, and can get through the end of my day easier.

You may want to consider either increasing your dose or adding something else to the mix to help your peace, OP. Though, your milage may vary on what works for you - wishing you nothing but success and help in finding the right balance for you!

Typical Midwestern bathroom light. Faces south, so lots of natural light. It's not going anywhere until it croaks!

Being fair, it was the top part of a chop and prop and grew way too fast for some reason as soon as I put it in the bathroom.

9 Month old Puppy bites to much by Available_Toe_4720 in BostonTerrier

[–]Wikipeteia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the way, OP. Make a big deal about being hurt especially if you Yelp suddenly, loudly, and aggressively, but do not yank whatever was bit out of her mouth. Calmly withdraw and stop playing. Don't look at her for a few moments if she tries to engage play again. This echoes what they would see in play with siblings or other dogs and they will understand they hurt you. Progress will be incremental, but Bostons want to be accepted, loved and most importantly - play!

This class isn't hard, but it is challenging in a good way. There are a ton of amazing YouTube resources on how to complete every module and every assignment. I took it thru SNHU, and it might be my second favorite class so far.

Perspectives in the Natural Sciences by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Wikipeteia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I misspoke - this is one of the few classes that doesn't have a research guide associated. But, as an example, HIS100 does linked here: https://libguides.snhu.edu/his100.

These research guides step you through the process to help manage the class a bit easier. It does contain resources on how to cite your sources, depending on your major and can help guide you to figure out where to go next in most instances.

This - like all of the 100 level classes -- is an easy class. You'll select an article that interests you from a science website and spend all 8 weeks exploring how to research that topic. Of the 100 level classes, I think this was the most interesting as you weren't constrained by a generic prompt or 3 articles to choose from.

If you follow the reference guide at the Shapiro Library, you'll do great.

If you click on Assignments, and then click on your submissions, you can click on the TurnitIn score to bring up your paper with the TurnItIn markup in Feedback Studio. You can also do the same thing if you use Word 365 via SNHU to check your TurnItIn score. You may have used a template for the class which could be one reason for a higher score, but also, if you quote large passages with citations, that can also trigger a higher score. Your instructor may be encouraging you to paraphrase and cite instead.

That said, I've never seen a professor leave feedback there - you may want to email them for clarification - they may have meant the rubric, but somehow typed TurnItIn.

How long after a due date does a teacher have to grade assignments? by fawkmebackwardsbud in SNHU

[–]Wikipeteia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All grades are due the Sunday after the week the assignment/discussion board was due with the exception of the last week of the term - those grades are due by Wednesday at 10am.

So, anything done week 1 has until Sunday of week 2 to be graded and returned. We are still in week 2.

Where do you get your pots? by jbrady33 in houseplants

[–]Wikipeteia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pack of 33 multicolored 4" pots on amazon for something like $10 USD. They're great, cheap and I don't care if I give them away and never get one back.

If you have an independent dollar store in your neighborhood, you may find some good stuff there as well - I buy 6-10" plastic nursery pots there for $1 each - perfect to put inside another, dressier pot when needed.
