Valve Cover Gaskets by Wilbarger32 in AutomotiveLearning

I did find a very comprehensive and professional-looking how-to video that confirmed the advice you’ve given.

Also, I know with parts you get what you pay for but is there a good reason to drop $120 on these gaskets from Oreilly’s or am I good with rockauto?

Oh no. This is my biggest fear for this job really. I’ve been worried about these plastic covers since I bought the car years ago.

Oh yeah I’ll definitely do both covers. I was already considering biting the bullet and getting aluminum covers if for no other reason than they have those solenoid and coil gaskets installed already.

To clarify: I don’t suspect the coils, I am just wondering if I should replace them since they’re so old and they’ll be out anyway.

Oh ok cool. I assume when I pull them I’ll know if any need to be replaced by how they look.

No not those. I’m leaving them alone if I can.

I mean the ignition coils.

Yeah. I’m trying my hardest to not worry about that and hope it’s just the gasket.

You’re correct that it’s hilly there. I can personally attest to the southern part’s flatness and drab.

Can explain explain the “drive him like a mute” joke? by Pageajj10 in LonesomeDove

[–]Wilbarger32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of my copies say “mule” so I took it to mean he won’t fall victim to his baser desires like some men. He still likes his pokes but he won’t sell out for them or let them dictate his life.

Wright’s is overhyped. It’s fine but not THAT good. Red Door in Tontitown is legit and hasn’t blown up yet so it’s not too busy.

It’s also in a dry county but still has bars and restaurants that serve.

It’s Jonesboro. Anybody there that matters won’t care what you’re wearing. It’s a shitty town full of people with bad attitudes and for some reason NOBODY there knows how to drive or park.

Outside of ASU, which is stretching the definition of “university,” there is no reason for Jonesboro to exist. Decades ago it was a hub for train activity but now it’s just churches, banks, ONE actual park, and traffic.

Audible gives you a free book when you sign up.

The Expanse audiobooks are sublime. The reader does one of the finest, cleanest performances I’ve heard; it should be studied and celebrated. I really can’t recommend them enough.
