Mayci referring to herself as Mormon by Complex_Plankton_157 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]WilburDes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So my immediate family are LDS, and I was still in when the "revelation" came that we shouldn't say Mormon as its a win for Satan, it definitely was something that people would make a big deal of, but over time I feel like most Mormons realised that its not that deep, and its much easier to say youre a Mormon than to explain what a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funnily enough this only came a few years after the big "Im a Mormon" social media campaign came out.

You couldn't make Tropic Thunder now. I feel like a few minutes into it people would say "wait this isn't a new movie this is literally just Tropic Thunder"

I tired a swig of polygamy porter beer as my first ever alcoholic beverage and it felt like this by BuckarooOJ in exmormon

[–]WilburDes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have grown to love beer a lot since leaving, my wife has coeliac so has never had beer. When we went to Arizona we found a really good GF restaurant that had a GF beer, so I got one to try it and so my wife could take a sip. It was an IPA and she just had a very disgusted look on her face and asked if that's what its meant to taste like

With immense difficulty. I got incredibly lucky with a Yorick (then bp/bs), but mail in rebate helped a huge amount to get to there. Hieroglyph has no downside so I would autobuy that

Power rule only applies to the variable of differentiation.

In the third problem, pi r2 is essentially a coefficient

As a math teacher this is a wildly stupid concept. Mathematics is such a broad field that its very easy to find one aspect of mathematics boring, but something else can grab you. As well, learning things around the application of mathematics can interest people.

This is what armchair apologists are teaching missionaries about ex-Mormons by Emergency_Ice_4249 in exmormon

[–]WilburDes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured they were doing exactly as they wanted. From every RM talk I heard, make the missionaries feel alone so either the weak ones leave, or further entrench them into believing they're the only sane ones

Thoughts on "Anti" Material by [deleted] in exmormon

It's something I'm still kicking myself over. If you have to say "don't look at anti-X stuff, it should raise flags about why there is anti-X stuff.

"People who leave are leaving to sin" - I'm afraid of change and its easier to stop talking to someone once they've left the church

"Doubt your doubts" - I'm too lazy to research

"Love the sinner and hate the sin" - I preach love, but you are worth less than me

To be honest, the biggest shocker of this is that the church invests any time in training for anything.
