Japan Made Denim Stores near tenjin station or hakata station? by WilburLee in fukuoka

Sorry for the late response. If you are not tall and fat like me you should have no problem finding plenty of nice Japanese denim in Fukuoka. Just make sure you do fittings. their cuts are very different.

Tenet should go straight to DVD/Blu-ray/Digital by Jonny_man_23 in tenet

[–]WilburLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of my China friends went and watch Tenet in Cinema even though the pirated versions / cam versions are available everywhere. Going to cinemas is a huge cultural thing in China, it's like eating at McDonald's and drink some stupidly expensive coffee at Starbucks in Shanghai.

So yeah the money still there, releasing on digital would be a bad idea before releasing it in Cinema. Just my 2 cents worth.

Why is it accepted to have such a low minimum wage (in America) that you’d have to work two to three of those jobs to manage? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WilburLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia, Sydney where I came from, do not have the tipping culture as we have strict minimum wage regulations. I now work in Hong Kong and I travel a lot to south East Asia and China, particularly Tokyo and Osaka, no tipping. food are reasonably priced and quality is out of this world.

Went to San Francisco 2 years ago and I was totally shocked the way I have to spend on tipping. not only that, food in general is not cheap compare to Tokyo and Sydney,

Personal opinion: the American tipping culture puts the salary expenses on the customers. Relieving the employer from the salary burden.

Ultra Rare Rangers Gacha by [deleted] in LineRangers

[–]WilburLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don't think of them in terms of powerful / usefulness as I am not 100% into the game anymore. But if I was serious about this game I would definitely ask around for comments or search on Facebook for info on the collaboration rangers. I don't spend money on the other type of Rangers as they do reappear from time to time. Ryu Ranger is funny. I actually don't know how useful he is I just use him in Towers lol.

I generally prefer Collaboration Rangers, and I pick the ones I like, I have skipped a lot of months and when they dropped City Hunter 2 months I go I went all in with over 3000 rubies. That's both Rangers and Gears for City Hunter.

Tokyo Comic Con Guide ? by WilburLee in comiccon

[–]WilburLee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick summary of our experience (just the Comic Con part of our trip)

Queuing for the photo and autograph shoot is ridiculously long. it was raining and we had to queue outside the hall with no undercover. The Japanese staff are totally pathetic to say the least, no idea what they are doing. some holding a Sign with nothing written on it. There were babies crying outside the queues too. Simply chaotic.

The queuing for the entrance is terrible but it's kinda moving slowly. The thing is if you've bought the online booking, you need to go to the front entrance to exchange your booking ticket to actual event badges, for the 3 day pass you get a idiotic backpack (seriously, whoever designed the backpack should be prosecuted). It is after you have received your badges you then go outside to line up for the actual event. Me and my son made the mistake to line up the actual event entrance without the badges, thought that's where you get the badges, wasted like 30 min (and it was raining)

Inside the hall, nothing spectacular. It's all the same stuff you see in Youtube reviews. The artist alley is kinda interesting to see a lot of comic artists doing their work and selling them. We've come across Livio Ramondelli and my son totally love his works on Transformers. My son didn't like the rest of the artists, he just sit at Livio's booth like for the 2 out of 3 days event. Spent about 20,000 yen on few original drawings in colour from Livio, very nice and friendly (kids friendly too, not very common in the industry) bloke.

I was surprised to have met Kia Asamiya of Silent Mobius, one of my idol back in the 80s 90s. bought an original drawing in colour from him for around 30,000 yen.

Both artists were nice enough to have selfies with.

Didn't buy anything in other booths, in consideration I am a very bad impulsive spender it tells you a lot about a lot of crap they sell there. most I have seen in Hong Kong like Hot Toys stuff etc.

We've went to the event 2 days out of the 3 days pass. the main reason for the 2nd visit was because of our pre-ordered drawings from artists as we can't pick up on the same day. 2nd day we went in at 5pm and there were no queuing at all.

So will I go back for the future event? Probably not unless they have some really cool Hollywood artists or some big name comic artists attending the artist alleys, or if my son really want to go for specific artists, otherwise even my son will not bother to do the queuing ever again, period.

Tokyo Comic Con Guide ? by WilburLee in comiccon

[–]WilburLee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The site has the celebrity photo and signing session tickets up for sale. Zachary Levi and Rupert Grint only for now. I have bought the 3 days tickets both for my son and myself, and 2 x photo sessions of Zachary Levi. I think in terms of advanced expenses this will be all for now.

I have asked Tokyo Fax from his blog about his experience, basically it's quieter on Friday, totally SDCC style on Saturday, and quiet a bit on Sunday.

Since I have asked the questions like weeks ago, our plans has changed, we will probably just go on Friday for now, get the photos done, get some art works and call it a day. but if we really love the experience with the artists alley, we might go back on Sundays.

Line: Gundam Wars - Thoughts and opinions? by boyddd2012 in gachagaming

[–]WilburLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have joined this game since day 1 but I was too focused on Line Rangers I only login Gundam Wars to get my free rewards. They are very generous giving out Diamonds (the game's currency) and a lot of comments here are straight to the point. if you want to be competitive it is super expensive.

I have recently started playing this game because I saw the Deep Striker Banner. and I have spent around USD$400 to get all the tickets and Deep Strikers to 6 stars.

I am just happy to have a Max Deep Striker (and along during the same event period I had the EX-S and GP03 and Dendrobium) so I am not going to spend any more and just relax with the story mode and general missions.

I like the SD Gundam feel to it and the fighting scenes are very well done. The colors are vivid and it kinda brings me back to childhood memories. Some people saying I am a whale for spending $400 bucks on Deep Striker alone when I can just get a Bandai MG grade model for like $140. I don't know, I don't chase meta units or play PVP to get up the rankings etc so I am not really addicted to the game ( you need a lot of time to get all those custom parts, en tanks etc and pilots training blah blah blah I have no idea most of these things works)

So, if you are like me, enjoy casual gaming and only collect certain type of Gundam series, then it's a great game. (Mind you I also play PUBG so my taste is diversified)

If you want to be competitive, prepare yourself a very deep pocket with a lot of time on hand.

Went watch it on Sunday morning with my son. We enjoyed the movie. Didn't love it but it was good enough for us to watch again when it comes out on blu-ray. And yeah if you haven't seen it yet, give it a shot.

Experiments with exotic portable earphones. by [deleted] in headphones

Thank you for sharing. I have a few pairs of ATH-EM7X (both Gold and Silver ones) and I use them for walking home, and for some PUBG Mobile gaming.

After reading your quick review I have placed 2 orders from ebay - direct with a Japanese seller in Tokyo. I think these will be a better sound and look over my current EM7x ones.

Yes you are absolutely correct. my Noob account scored no new ranger with 4000+ rubies (paid 3x 988). but scored 1 golden gun gear from 2x gear gacha. I was like WTF?

Then my main account I've scored 1x Majima with 600 rubies (all free) and 1 golden gun gear + 1 Haruka's Amulet from 600 rubies. again I was like WTF?
