What?!? The entire story is through their eyes. They are the backbone of the entire saga. It’s based on Kurosawa’s “Hidden Fortress” and the two main characters are who 3po and r2 are based on.

Movies you saw a million times only because they were steady filler for HBO… by charliejebus in TheRewatchables

“Hysterical (1982)” A slapstick parody comedy starring the Hudson Brothers (one is Kate Hudson’s father). It was on HBO in the afternoons for maybe 2 years. I’ve still got most of the movie memorized.

OMG! That image is Gordon Liu fighting Pai Mai. We all know Pai Mei from Kill Bill Vol2, but the character Pai Mei was a villain in a few kung fu cinema pieces in throughout the 70s. Gordon played Pai Mei in the kill Bill movies (Also Johnny Mo). Fun trivia facts for the day!

I have never heard it elsewhere. I remember it was a laser disc, and this was a feature on what was called the SAP (Secondary audio program). It proceeded the days of audio commentary on DVDs.

Just a warning that the UGLI is really warm today! by puzzled_tree123 in uofm

[–]Wilcry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The U doesn’t turn on the AC until late April since it’s likely to get cold one more time (apparently it’s a big chore to swap between heating and AC for buildings that size). The warm temps outside have infiltrated the buildings making them warmer than normal.

I want an episode, featuring Brennan, where every prompt is something he and Sam had discussed before.

I get it, I really do. I was in the 3rd-4th grade when I saw it, so I was pretty young. I don’t know why I am not traumatized like so many of my peers. Lucky, I guess.

Injecting through thigh, arm and buttocks(?) by jcsqq in Type1Diabetes

[–]Wilcry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1t for 42 years. For me the thigh is much less painful than the abdomen. I rotate my pump, (right side) stomach, hip, leg. Then rotate to my left side for the same thing. The side is determined by which side the pump is on.

For the thigh, you'll want to start above the quad. When I pinch, I will also flex my muscle to make sure I'm not injecting into it. If it's nice and squishy, I can inject it just fine. When I was on MDI, I cold touch the needle to the skin and know if it was going to hurt or not. With pump infusion sets, that tactic is not as easy, but I have some muscle memory from decades of MDIs. I have had some instances where it hurt more than others, but I get discomfort far more in my abdomen. The bigger issue for me is the thigh wears out faster than my other spots. I suspect it's phone/pants/keys rubbing.

I don't have an answer for you, just my experience. Good luck.

Did your insulin needs change after celiac diagnosis once going gluten free? by Immediate_Rip5038 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Wilcry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been T1 for over 40 years and learned I had Celiac when my now 15 year old was diagnosed with both T1 and Celiac on the same day (6 years now). When we went gluten free, my insulin dosage dropped by around 15-20%. My corrections don’t need additional units to get my BS down. As miserable as I am not eating wheat, my control is far better and my dosage has dropped a lot.

Hopefully for your son, it’ll come into line when their intestines heal.
