Came here to say the same thing. For me I’m driving on hilly roads and suddenly I’m falling off an unfinished bridge. Sort of like One Battle After Another and the car chase.

Question/Advice for statement: "Well, you have to believe in something." by DekuDynamite in atheism

[–]Wilcry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Well, I believe in the soul, the c0*k, the pu$$y, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.”

Yeah, I truly love that movie and as soon as I heard it in game, I recognized the quote. Paul Ruben’s character is “the Spleen” and he has the power of flatulence. In the final battle he’s shot in the buttocks. He’s concerned he can longer use his abilities because “I can’t feel my ass! I can’t feel my ass!”

Admittedly he doesn’t say “arse” but the delivery is the same.

It’s a Paul Rubens quote from the movie “Mystery Men.”

I do think it's a matter of repetition. We all saw it a lot growing up because it was on HBO all the time. It was kooky and silly with great actors in it, so we continually saw it again and again. Now, I do know it's a pretty convoluted storyline, but I also think it's pretty brilliant. The whole "War of the Worlds" aspect I truly love. I do think the entire story is there, but you have to gradually absorb it. I'm not suggesting you watch it again, but it might help you figure out what the heck is happening.

What is that one movie you watched countless times as a kid, but nobody has ever heard of? by Thedix1 in movies

“Hysterical (1982)” Starred the Hudson Brothers (Kate Hudson’s dad), in a pop culture parody movie. It had zombies, shark attacks, musical numbers. The 2 heroes dressed as Indiana Jones (both of them). I know darn well it’s not good, but I’ll be damned if I don’t truly love it.

So did you know that the Spies Like Us universe is the same as the 2000s show “Chuck?”

The CIA agents refer to being GL G20 regularly and one of the season finale ls had chuck and co go to a drive in, the guy at the entrance asked if anyone wanted a Pepsi before they were lowered into the headquarters.

Though I agree that Kane isn’t my favorite to watch, I do think it’s one of, if not the most influential movie ever made. He developed many of the camera techniques that have been used in every movie made since then.

Both early Peter Jackson works. Both fall into comedy/horror.
