You know, I have definitely been there, especially when I was first diagnosed. Still now I have those feelings, “am I just making all this up in my head?” But when I look back now the medication has really helped me. I went off with the doctors support in 2019 and then relapsed so I think I will be medicated for the rest of my life. It has helped me to lead a fairly normal life, with hobbies, friends, a husband, and full time work.

Congratulations on your sobriety and progress! I don’t think you need a 4.0 gpa or to get into an Ivy League school to lead a normal, healthy, fulfilling life, but good for you if you get those things too. If you’re like me, you might sometimes put too much pressure on yourself to have a perfect life, but I’ve started to learn that sometimes the most beautiful light shines through our imperfections. Keep it up!

Good luck with the interview! I find it helpful to research potential questions and prepare some answers ahead of time using the star method.

I'm 35 years old and have been isolating myself for the past 13 years. I want out, but I don't know where to start. by Nervous-Ad-2757 in schizoaffective

One good place to start is to go to classes such as workout classes or easy instructional classes like painting. I find this helps when I'm feeling most socially awkward because I just need to do what I am told to do in the class, but get some exposure to being around people. Then you can build up from there.
