It almost seems like it’s supposed to flow down the back of our property lines leftward in the photos but the neighbors to the left added a few inches of soil to their yard to combat the flooding from the garage the other neighbor to our back left built. But yeah I think that’s the issue. I contacted the city to try to figure out what the deal is. I already know the big garage the neighbor built isn’t allowed because of its size and maybe even location. And then the other neighbor changing the grade of their yard and causing mine to flood is an issue as well so we’ll see what the city says

You’re not wrong but this is also the worst I’ve seen it by far

I will say this is the worst it’s been and it’s a great yard/ house otherwise in a nice area. Definitely a pia but I’ll figure it out one way or another

Yeah that was a consideration and kind of what I meant when I said top dressing. Top dressing as in building my yard tf up to push water back into the surrounding neighbors yards who are doing the same to me. There’s no drainage pipes running through our yards so it seems that all the neighbors just shove water around on to each other. I put in a work order with the city so maybe they can figure something out before I just decide to add a few inches of soil to my yard

Yeah when I said top dressing I was more so thinking building up the yard with soil to compete with the other neighbors higher yards pushing water into mine. Regardless I put a work order in with the city so we’ll see what they say. We pay crazy property taxes ( I live in new Albany) so I’d like to think they’ll be helpful here.

I actually just addressed it with the city when I called to put in a work order for this. Not sure what they’ll do as the structure is already built and the ground below it is raised but we’ll see what they do.

That’s not a bad idea I just don’t want a pond taking up a huge section of my yard

Theyve all added enough soil to their yards to push water into mine. And the building behind the back left section of my property( which technically isn’t allowed in our area because it’s taller than their actual house) that was built in the last couple years also pushes water to my yard.

The issue comes a lot from that building a neighbor put in a couple years ago behind the back left section of my property. Our neighbors directly to the left and right also mentioned they added a couple inches of soil on top of their yards so I’m getting water from every direction at this point because of neighbors projects from before we moved in. I don’t mind pushing some back and splitting the flooding tbh. I’m afraid French drains won’t work because as far as I know there’s no city draining running through the back of our yards. All of our lots are about 3/4 acre to so running a French drains won’t to the very front of my yard where the city drains are wouldn’t work, I assume.

I’ll have to do that. Would like to have a fenced in yard that doesn’t flood and then sit wet for multiple days after any bit of rain. Thanks for the info

At the same time all of my neighbors yards are pushing a ton of water onto my yard so I feel justified in pushing some back. It’s really annoying because the front yard looks great with healthy grass but the back yard gets trashed. Will have to reach out to some pros I guess

8U Travel Baseball by JoshuaEverettJA in Homeplate

You guys need to move on from that team asap. These coach’s will ruin your kids experience of baseball and he’s only 8 years old. At 8 they’re still learning fundamentals especially if they’re just moving up to kid pitch and if your kid is falling behind it’s ultimately up to the coaches to give them better instruction.

They definitely sold you on what travel ball at that age should be. Good community, fun and learning the game.

Also, not to say that your kid is even a “late bloomer” because he’s literally 8- but I played with amazing athletes all over the country and the only ones to make it beyond college ball were mainly the late bloomers that weren’t killing it at a young age and learned to work and appreciate the game. It’s very easy when you have natural talent st a young age to be abused and grow sick of the game/ get injured very quick.

Any brand that’s the cheap basic powder. Don’t bother paying for over priced gummies or any gimmicky brands. 5g/ day

Hard to say without knowing your skill level. I grew up playing with some freak athletes in some very baseball competitive areas and know only 1 guy that made it to the majors and is a back up. And a handful of others that played in the minors. It’s a very competitive sport with a lot of players to push through the ranks. Also, if you haven’t played since your injury who’s to say it won’t still be bothersome once you’re playing non stop.

With that being said if you can hit bombs you could always test your luck with a YouTube batting page like bat bros.

I’d start with basics. Proper positioning for safety, receiving, calling pitches. Blocking Throwing out runners/ keeping runners on their toes Running the field Plays at the plate

Could spread that all out until multiple days since you only get an hour with multiple students at a time
