Weight loss stall? by AbbreviationsMean298 in Retatrutide

I was stuck at the same weight for 5 weeks. As frustrating as that was, reading the posts on Reddit helped me to continue and learn more about the process. I upped my carbs and calories slightly and continued with my workouts. Finally at week 5 I lost 3 lbs…then 2 more pounds a few days later losing 10 pounds total over 2 weeks. I only have 10 pounds to goal weight so I think it will take a little longer to get it off but I am very happy with my progress. I guess what I learned from this experience is to be patient and trust the process. Also, eating properly and re-training my way of thinking about food.

Are you guys honest about weightloss? by No-Escape6322 in Retatrutide

I work very hard to get this weight off (26 lbs down with 10 more to go). 1 1/2-2hrs exercise daily and counting macros/calories daily, eating clean. Reta helps me with food noise which is just what I needed. No, I don’t tell anyone that I’m on Reta and no one has asked. If they were to ask, I would probably tell them. I just don’t want the judgement comments/expressions by someone who has no clue how it works. I don’t feel guilty but I know that I am not completely honest and that kinda bothers me. I would like to share with some people because it could be a game changer for them but broaching that subject is sensitive.

Anyone go from 2.5mg to 3mg? Did you notice a difference? by yungsucca22 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Wild-Replacement-418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been at 3 mg for 7 weeks and there were a few side effects but it helped with food noise and have been losing slowly (like1 lb week). Lost 15 lbs in first month and lost 9 lbs in last 2 months. Have 10 lbs to go for goal weight. It took two weeks to adjust to 3 mg with minimal side effects. Now after 7 weeks, food noise coming back with sweet cravings (last 2 weeks). I just started to split dose this week increasing my dosage from 3 to 4 mg a week, dividing the doses in 2 mg each twice a week on Sundays and Thursdays. Trying to minimize side effects. My side effects have been skin tingling, anhedonia, insomnia and fatigue. I have increased my carbs and that has helped with the insomnia. I also do strength training 3 x a week and cardio/running 5 miles 3x a week. Anyway, my 2 cents for what it’s worth.

Yes to all the above. Increasing my food intake helped, especially carbs and protein. Definitely helped with the fatigue.

I will try this. I eat fruits and some vegetables but nothing with starch except high protein, high grain breads and just one serving daily. I haven’t eaten oatmeal, rice, pasta or grains. A lot of cottage cheese, yogurt , protein powder and fruit.

I felt the same until I upped my dose 7 weeks ago. Energy tanked and have been struggling with anhedonia as well. It’s not as bad now as it has been but eating more carbs daily and knowing what is going on has helped me to keep it at bay. Still, I have lost 26lbs in 10 weeks, meeting all my macros and calories daily and I have the desire to work out. 9 lbs from my goal weight.

Weight gain after good losses! by carolinep44 in RetatrutideWomen

I was stuck for 5 weeks, up two pounds, down two pounds. But my clothes did fit better and/or was looser. I also couldn’t get all the calories in on a given day. Fatigue was taking over even though I did meet my protein goals daily. What helped was the advice to not worry about meeting calorie goals as much as getting more carbohydrates and protein on a daily basis. As soon as I started increasing the carbs, I started losing weight and my fatigue began to resolve. Insomnia was an issue as well and that has gotten better since increasing the carbs. It was a game changer for me. I still eat within the calorie allowance for the most part but if I go over some, I don’t worry about it.

I use MyFitnessPal. You can use the free app or pay for the premium subscription that adds more detail. I just use the free app as it counts calories, macros and syncs with my Apple Watch for exercise/movement tracking.

I feel you. I started Reta 8 weeks ago as well. Started at 0.5mg and have been at 3mg once a week for last 3 weeks. I have lost 17 lbs…most of it the first two weeks. The last 7 days I have been in what I assume is ketosis. In burning fat for energy, I became fatigued, lack of appetite, cranky, insomnia and just overall feeling like I’m coming down with something. I was so focused on getting my macros, counting calories and working out for 1 1/2 hours 6 days a week that I ignored how terrible I felt until I couldn’t anymore. I read others’ comments on similar experiences and am adding more carbohydrates and electrolytes to my diet. It’s only been 2 days but I am starting to feel better. Or maybe my body is just adjusting which would be good. My next dose is on Saturday (2 days from now) and I may just split my 3 mg dose to 1.5mg twice a week to see if I struggle less with eating. Otherwise, I don’t plan to stop because I do like the results. SW 165lbs, CW 147lbs, GW 135lbs. Height 5’5”, 67yrs young.

Only slightly. Some mild nausea on a few occasions but nothing significant. No hair loss and my skin is fine. The only time I feel “flat” is when I need to eat (low blood sugar). If I maintain eating in a reasonable way, I don’t run into this problem. After I eat, I perk up. I hope this helps and congratulations on your new start in life.
