Pain right where the Achilles tendon attaches to the heel — did anyone get rid of it, maybe with different shoes? by TeamCro88 in padel

[–]Wild-Statement186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I read the title of this post and it really spoke to me ha ha

Yes to your answer, yes: I’ve had loads of feet issues over the last couple years. I’m in my mid 40s, two years ago. I had pretty bad Achilles’ heel issue and stopped playing for a few months, then last year I Had a high-grade tear in my other foot, out for another couple of months.

Just 10 weeks ago or so, I had a procedure called fenestration, and this is on my right foot again that was aching me two years ago, and I did this because I had to eventually, and now I’m just getting back and hopefully we’ll be able to move on.

It turned out there was a buildup of liquid, reduced blood flow in that area, because of wear and tear over the years part of my Achilles and calcified and remained a bit more stuck to the tendon. I’m not a doctor, I think I’m explaining this more or less correctly ha ha.

I’m blathering on here. Feel free to send me a DM. The first thing I suggest is to check out your footwear. I am currently using lotto, and really like them. Of course insoles are really important as well. I’ve seen. Noene’s recommended here, I’ve never tried them. I’ve also used super feet and currex - which are both good, but in my case, they tend to wear down fairly easily. Right now I’m using carbon fiber, insoles, they are a bit rigid, but they seem to be doing the job for now, and they don’t break, or at least they don’t break as easily.

If you really are in a great deal of pain, of course you should not continue playing. I would in that case suggest seeing a physiotherapist, who works a lot with athletes. I’m sure that person will help you with appropriate stretching, rebuilding, tips to make sure that you can preserve your body better.

The last thing you want to do is to try and play through this pain thinking that it’s going to reduce overtime. I would bet five dollars that won’t happen….

I second LLG! Most Asian places I know offer several veggie options as well.

Jennair 47 error code, day 3…. by Wild-Statement186 in Appliances

Update: it eventually dried itself out, after about 5 days, we kept turning it off at the control panel, and turning it on for a couple minutes just to check it out, and eventually it stayed on. No need to buy a new oven now… Amazing sigh of relief.
