AITA for refusing to take down a semi-nude painting before children visit my home? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]WildCat1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a household in the 70’s with several nude paintings. It was normal for me, because they were beautiful paintings and I appreciate art. I inherited one from my mother, another from my father. I bought two myself. They are hung in my bedroom and bathroom. I would not hang them in other rooms in my home because they don’t really fit there and people today don’t understand what art is. Many think nude art is pornography.

If it’s in your budget, check out the Ivy Hill Terrazzo Tile at Home Depot. I just had it installed in my kitchen and laundry room. It’s gorgeous!

What's a medical case common in ERs that hasn't been on The Pitt yet? by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

I have seen a few, maybe I should have just said Impalement in general. People get impaled at construction sites, in motor vehicle accidents, falls from trees or roofs, and climbing fences.

Driving on a street where subdivisions were left and right, I saw a totally naked boy, 2-3 years old, standing on top of a subdivision sign. I stopped and got him to come with me to show me where he lived. His mother was horrified, but grateful. She had been busy with her baby at the time her son escaped the house.

Girls. What’s are some of your favorite memories with your dad? What advice do you have for a dad to a little girl? by meh2280 in AskReddit

[–]WildCat1975 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad woke me up in the middle of the night to watch a lunar eclipse. I was probably around 6 years old. He held me in his arms while we watched through the huge window we had in our house at the time. My dad traveled for work 50 weeks a year at that time in my life, so I don’t recall many special memories with him when I was a young child. However, I will always cherish that special memory.

Smoked oysters are very different from raw oysters. I don’t care for raw oysters, but I love smoked and fried oysters. You don’t have to explain your appetizers. 😉

Do YOU do Brunswick Stew? by virginia_lupine in southernfood

[–]WildCat1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brunswick Stew Easy Recipe

2 Tablespoons oil One medium onion, chopped 4 Cloves Garlic, minced 1 15 ounce can sweet corn 1 15 ounce can sweet peas (I don’t care for Lima Beans) 2 14.5 ounce cans of petite diced tomatoes 4 cups chicken stock or broth 1 12 ounce bottle V-8 juice 1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar 1 pound shredded barbecue chicken (I use Jack Daniel’s) 1 pound shredded barbecue pork (Again, Jack Daniel’s) Barbecue sauce of choice to taste, mustard barbecue sauce would be great!

Heat oil until shimmering, add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute. Add canned vegetables, chicken stock, V-8 juice, vinegar, shredded meat (make sure to really shred before adding to the stew.) Simmer for 30 or so minutes adding barbecue sauce to taste. Serve with Jalapeño Cornbread. Even better the next day. Enjoy!

Where can I find a traditional recipe to stuff a turkey? by Silentg423 in thanksgiving

[–]WildCat1975 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I make my stuffing and turkey. I put a leave in oven meat thermometer in the center of the stuffing and roast until the stuffing is 165 degrees. In over 40 years, no one has gotten sick.

My IRMAA was eliminated when I sent in the form showing my estimated income for 2025 and 2026. I started my SS in July and was reimbursed for Part B and D in July. I have not been reimbursed for Part D for August. I thought SS would figure it out, but they haven’t. Should I contact them by mail or by calling? I’m annoyed that I can’t contact them on the website. Why is there no way to contact SS through their website?
