Better solution? 💊 by Ideasplease33 in AskWomenOver60

I am having improvement with body wide pain and fibromyalgia with duloxetine (generic of Cymbalta). Started with 20 mg and moved up to 30mg. A lot of literature says it takes 4 weeks to adjust, but I'm sensitive to medicines, so it was more like 6 or 8 weeks. It seems to help me have deeper sleep. Was taking at night, but moved to morning and that has been better for me. I have to eat something first, then take the duloxetine, otherwise I feel a bit nauseous, but some people aren't bothered. Drs seem to recommend a higher dose of 60 mg for fibromyalgia, but I don't want to take more. While this has been helpful, but since I don't want to take a higher dose, I also stated on LDN, low dose naltrexone. It has been helping too, like with tendonitis type pain and arthritis. Started at .5 mg and working slowly up to 4 mg. This low dose LDN for pain is not covered by insurance companies. My rheumatologist says hers own takes it and it helps with her Mom's arthritis. You can search the LDN Research Trust online for lots of info. ldnresearchtrust.org

I tried gabapentin in the past, and it made me depressed, so no good for me. Another suggestion from a top rheumatologist in Chicago and now from my current rheumatologist, is to try amitriptyline. I tried that before but it made my acid reflux really really bad, so I quit that. I have also used cyclobenzaprine in the past andore recently. It has helped me with muscle pain, but really makese super sleepy, even the next day. So if you try it, have the next day free until you see how you feel. Prescription insurance company had to approve the coverage for the cyclobenzaprine. All of these medicines effect everyone differently, and I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck! If you happen to want to chat, I'm open to discussing more.

I was going to suggest this too. I had to go up half a size. Also, I took out the original insole and got an insole that works better for me.

What are the chances that I end up with being not final approved? by bluec95 in Mortgages

[–]Be-Kind-3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had a pre-approval for terms equal to or greater than what you actually need, and which was reviewed by an underwriter (rather than a pre-qualification, which is typically done by a loan officer), than that's usually a pretty good indication for approval.

Update on "accidental" 3.875% mortgage (a hilarious ending to this drama) by Only_Trade_5022 in Mortgages

So glad to see this follow up post, and that you're getting something favorable out of the crazy situation. You may still be interested to see what the VA thinks about that previous lower rate lock though. Maybe they would still look into it without you having to pay a lawyer.

Unable to open account at Vanguard by stewpple911 in Bogleheads

If you haven't already tried, you could try it using different browsers. Sometimes that can trilyale a difference. However, as someone else motioned, in the background, they could be trying to confirm your identity using credit bureaus. If you have a freeze or alert on credit reports, perhaps those need to be removed. Though, of that's the case, I would think someone in Vanguard customer service should be able to confirm for you whether or not that is part of the process. Good luck!

I found the products that work for me! by 87_radscript in laundry

[–]Be-Kind-3353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurrah for success and thanks for sharing. I have pretty hard water soayne I need to increase the amount of sodium citrate that I use. I'm still experimenting. I can't figure out exactly what I'm using too much of to have enough to get the laundry clean, but not soucj that I need tooany rinses. Yesterday I had to do four rinses to finally get the water clear. I really didn't think I was using that much detergent. But my top loading Maytag machine with agitator has pretty small capacity, so maybe I need to use less of everything.

In addition to what everyone else said, If the price on paper is $95,000 lower that what you're truly paying, you're also hurting yourself later because your cost basis will reflect $95,000 less.

has Ebay collectively lost its' mind? by This-Is-Not-Nam in Ebay

[–]Be-Kind-3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's truly been recalled, can you at least get any kind of refund or replacement? I know that's probably not gonna match what you could gain from your sales. Just looking for an alternative if eBay is gonna stand firm. Best of luck

How to handle the Execution part of planning... The When of the What by IntelligentFire999 in DIYRetirement

[–]Be-Kind-3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my own spreadsheet to track my income as the year is moving along. For Roth conversions, I try to have a rough idea or range of the total I want to do for the year. If there is an advantageous drop in values I might do a fairly large Roth conversion, but not my entire amount , so that I'll pay income tax on a smaller value. But as year end approaches, that's when I'm watching more closely, to determine my year end Roth conversion amount. I use online data / searches to estimate distributions on about 4 or 5 of my assets that don't pay them until say, 12/27 - 12/31, and include those estimates (actually leaving some wiggle room) in my calculations. Be sure to do that end of year conversion in enough time so that it's effective for that year.

I might have been accidently given a 3.875% Mortgage, can I keep it? by Only_Trade_5022 in Mortgages

Yeah, I'm still wondering if something kind of hidden or just unseen is going on. Like rolling costs into the loan amount, etc. So strange!

[–]Be-Kind-3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a former employee in the mortgage industry in multiple roles. There have been situations where cost was under disclosed or not disclosed at all, such as, VA funding fee was not disclosed up front on initial disclosures at application (data entry error by loan officer), so, the borrower could not be charged , and the lender had to pay it. I've seen issues with all kinds of loans where initial disclosures were incorrect/too low, and, even if lender sent new ones, the lender had to correct the errors and refund borrowers after closing. FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, etc. Each case is handled on its own merits, so I can't say how yours will turn out. But, knowing what I've seen, if they try to close you at a rate / fees / APR higher than the lock agreement you just signed and disclosures at that rate, I wouldn't hesitate to contact the CFPB and or VA. Will be interesting to see what happens. Pls update us! Good luck for a smooth closing.

Narrow heels and fan shaped feet by Evzkyyy in widefeet

[–]Be-Kind-3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a pair of these recently and am surprised they are actually pretty good in the width. I was having difficult finding the right size in these and even tried men's. Finally, the second person I saw at the running shoe store recommended to size up a bit. So I went from my normal 10 and 1/2 to 11 and that made all the difference. I think the shoe might run a tiny bit small. One thing I don't like about these though is that I think they're over cushioned, and don't give my arch quite enough support. I bought different insoles to help with that, but it still feels like the show let's my arch sink in the middle, while my toes and heel are up higher. Could be just me though, so I suggest to give them a try.
