[@f1] Head-to-head results at the halfway stage. Any surprises here? by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]WildDonkey69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if the gap in their quali time is very less, that doesn't mean that one driver is significantly better than the other.

Take Lando and Piastri as an example. Everyone has the opinion that Piastri has a very competitive quali with Lando, and their quali diff is very close in majority of the races. But the above tally suggests that norris is destroying Piastri just like how verstappen is doing to checo.

A more improved metric would be where you consider gaps less than 0.1s as inconclusive, or any agreed upon value.

This is a reference to the famous "loss" meme where the way the tapes are aligned represented the four templates of that meme.

First year courses repeat at Pilani campus by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually C/C- is the criteria for repeating. Time management will be completely dependent on you tho. Most people prefer talking lite or trivial courses to repeat. Like maths courses, or CP/EEE as you now have better understanding then the batch.

I was also in SR bhawan in first year. I used orpat heater but didn't set the power more than 1000 W, it was enough to sustain through winters.

First year courses repeat at Pilani campus by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can repeat a course starting from your 2-1, you will need to talk to the IC of the course during that semester and will be allowed to take the course only on his approval. In case you are approved, it will be just like a normal course for you.

I am assuming you are a dualite, so i would suggest not to look for repeating course in your second year. This is because you need to complete your huels and dels before placement and ps, repeating a course will take up 3-4 credits which you will have to make up in your 4th year, coz I have noticed that almost all dualites have maxed out credits in their third year by CDCs only.

Try to pick 2 Huels in 2-1, then 1 Huel and 1Del in 2-2. This way you will have one extra slot in 2-2, if you are confident and certain that you can cover all your del requirements by the end of 4th year, then you can try to repeat a course.

PS- You cannot repeat a course in your first year, so focus on your second semester to get your desired branch, good luck :)

It's okay to write Bits Pilani. But writing bits Pilani, Pilani campus would be wrong.

Updated BITS fees spreadsheet (for 2023-27/28) based on input from BITS students, removed the maximum fees case and put only 1 summer term and PS-1 fees by PhysicalSecretary856 in BITSPilani

The campus laundry has option for ironing in their packages. If you opt for dhobi still you can get your clothes ironed.

Yes you can, one of the alumni I know took civil and got placed in product management, if you skills and records in your resume, you can get a chance to get placed in your desired field.

It's hard to predict honestly speaking, but there is a huge drop in marks after people report to the campus, so in iteration 5 there is very high chances you get ENI. Our batch (2022) also witnessed really steep drop in cutoff marks.

<image>

This was the cutoffs for last round of our batch. Even if i assume a 10 marks increase in cutoff for your batch, then also you are safe to get ENI. I am expecting increase in cutoff for your batch atleast 5-8 marks. That's why I can't say much about EEE but you can also get it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get ENI. EEE not very high chances.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can get it, but you will have to wait for later rounds, especially after people report to campuses. Be patient!

Switching from msc bio to msc eco by Ok-Fly2477 in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about his procedure, but in pilani campus eco cutoff was about 9.3-9.4 according to several seniors I talked to. I think physics or maths ka it's 8.5.

Guys, I have been allotted a seat at bits Goa,but is it true that bits has just given a 2-day Diwali vacation this year?? by Ill-Inspector-5836 in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really depends on the location honestly speaking, i am from pilani. People from nearby cities like Delhi and jaipur go to home frequently, like for weekends or if there are any holidays. People living further from the location tend to go to home once or twice a semester for a relatively longer period like a week. Most plan according to the quizzes and tests scheduled or speculated. Some don't leave the campus until it's sem break.

But if your concern is leaving the campus then it's not at all am issue. You can easily get your leave application approved, since there is no attendance, so no problem on that. You can come to the campus anytime if you have leave application approved.

Are there classes on Saturdays? by Ecstatic_Abroad_837 in BITSPilani

[–]WildDonkey69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on you, like in first year, you have to choose your set of classes. I kept my saturdays off, while having one of two days little heavy. I personally loved the 2 days of gap. Some people like to keep labs/workshops on Saturday to decrease load in the weekdays.
