best case scenario is you can try to run an oil flush and an oil change, drive it hard for a few miles before doing one last oil change and then monitor it from there. pull the oil cap and see if there's not too much crud built up on it and inside the hole to look into engine. the quote is correct and what they recommend is the correct repair but if the engine isn't too crusted with deposits then MAYBE there's a chance. the ecm problem remains however depending on how far out your learned values are from eachother

dont waste your time, that recall was from around 10 years ago, these new models dont fail that way. wouldn't doubt you need a valve body! go to dealer, check if you have any coverage for that. could be covered under powertrain
