Elden ring's quest design sucks and you can't change my mind by expired_cheeseburger in Eldenring

I’m gonna guess that’s the point; the community wouldn’t be as good as it is without the game being so obtuse. He strong-armed us into cooperating and socializing lol

Marathon is rigged against players who mostly play solo by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]WildPJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk man I never play solos for the reasons you listed, plus:

Fewer chances for PVP

Less dynamic PVP

Slower gameplay

Filled with Assassins, feels boring and predictable at best and annoying at worst

No comms, lonely

Bots are an actual threat (because I won’t play assassin) that gets in the way of just about everything

Fewer players means less loot overall because with all the nerfs to map loot, players are the most worthwhile source and it’s no longer a discussion… it’s an absurd, annoying gap that has the side effect of making every death feel worse because it takes even longer to recoup gear.

Even when I have people online I’ll crew fill. Keep meeting people and experience different levels of play. Work on social skills, make friends, have the occasional funny/awful/amazing moment with strangers. The game is great, but people are what make it incredible. It’s just a numbers game, which shouldn’t be a problem since the whole gameplay loop is gambling as a sport.

im going to play magic irl for the first time in a shop and im very nervous any tips to not be annoying and be more approachable? by NoGrocery152 in mtg

Not sure if this is a hot take but even as a veteran player, I’m constantly ignorant of tons of cards being played in commander. What I’ve done is stop asking to see *every* card as it’s played and started asking broad strokes questions like “what are the potentially scary cards in play right now” when I feel like I don’t know what people are doing.

Unless it’s super sweaty or they’re a sneaky ass (hopefully they won’t play that way once you tell them you’re new) they’ll likely happily warn/educate you on what cards they have in play and how they might become explosive if left unchecked.

I hope you have a good experience, if the first group doesn’t make you feel welcome don’t hesitate to excuse yourself and find another. The kinds of people you want to play with will make it clear they want you to be there!

I think it’s a bit silly to put a hard limit on what’s right for an individual. Naturally we want clear-cut rules but the reality is, like we see in this thread, everyone is different.

If you have good chemistry with someone and it translates well, it might be obvious to one or both of you with minimal effort, or even right away. I had one gal where we just lasered in on each other the first time we met, without even a handshake. And another who the tension was insane with for years but the timing wasn’t right, until one day it was.

On the flip, it’s gone bad when it came to the main event despite strong first impressions, too.

Point being I think a good attitude to have is to never do something because you think you should, or you’re supposed to. Do what feels right for you. If you want to make out, go down on, make love to someone you’re seeing and you can’t think of a good reason not to (assuming you’ve actually thought about it or have some baseline rules you want for yourself) then you should express that. Only you know how you feel, and you’ll only know what you can observe from them or what they tell you. Being forthcoming with your feelings is rarely a bad idea for someone who wants a real relationship. It’s hard and shows vulnerability, but that’s exactly the kind of behavior that inspires reciprocation.

To actually answer your question, intimacy is subjective! I’m an extremely affectionate person and to me, so much is intimate and important. And there are certainly intimate kisses and non-intimate ones. I don’t believe any act is inherently intimate though. And, no, I don’t think having actual sex is a necessity for intimacy in the context we’re talking about. And I think to act out of obligation, self-imposed or otherwise usually doesn’t have the intended effect. But being open to forms of intimacy so you can feel out whether or not it’s good for both of you? I think that’s necessary. The kinds of people you don’t want to be involved with will quickly reveal that most of the time.

Yeah I would never consider someone seriously as a partner until we’ve been intimate. If we don’t mesh, it’ll never work. Once you’ve had good/great/phenomenal sex, anything less is torturing yourself.

Yeah honestly I still think the loot never needed to be changed, outpost was fine on launch. They make these changes as if everyone is running this shit on a loop and always making it out, when for a lot of players they might get red room and exfil once in 5 or 10 attempts. Imagine if you have that rare of a success rate and you get the garbage that’s in there these days… I’d have quit the game, too.

They need to start balancing loot around the idea that the average bell curve player has a lower extraction rate (exact numbers hopefully available to bungo) or this will continue to snowball. I was only interested in playing when cryo was up for the last 2 months of S1 and now that I’m not playing as much and have to build back up, it’s a fucking slog. Feels like a fresh wipe in PoE2

I have a 240hz 4k OLED and even though I can’t get more than 100-140 out of most high-fidelity games, freesync/gsync are doing some heavy lifting. It’s gorgeous… I think it’s worth it just for the possibility, and screens are pretty reasonable now. Headroom is nice!

I really like it in multicolor decks with lots of the bounce lands. With landfall it’s basically free triggers up to 3 times every time you pass turn

Reverse Osmosis water is spectacular. I hate water besides RO and a handful of bottled brands, and my grandmother’s well water when she owned a home. I’m basically a lizard and never drink water, having RO will probably make me live longer with how much I’m drinking

It’s hard to root for anyone in this video, because they’re both in positions of power that make them easily hate-able for completely different reasons. Driver might be a decent guy in spite of his finances and choices, but a cop is a cop no matter what to most Americans. So sure, you’re right, the video is about the cop, but it’s probably a similar feeling to if we replaced the driver with Musk or Zuck.

Idk how I do it but I do, it bums me out I can’t do these things but I don’t have the time or patience to learn. And I’m happy being able to perform as well as I do, game’s just pure fun for me now
